amiibo is certainly turning out to be a big thing in Nintendo's eyes. Whether or not the rewards for utilizing each amiibo is worthy to you, Nintendo plans to implement all sorts of bonuses. It appears right now that every amiibo is meant to do 'something' in each game though games not featuring certain characters may have more limited uses or lesser-valued ones. We've had plenty of threads on here for amiibo and I'm sure that will continue. Still, I wanted to establish a general discussion thread that doesn't have a specific focus or thought. We'll also use this thread for informing the forums about upcoming news regarding new waves of amiibo or new compatibility. Enjoy! Tell us which amiibo you're planning to get! To get the party started, here are the various waves of amiibo on their way, compatibility information from Nintendo's website, and various links to other threads regarding amiibo. Known amiibo

Amiibo D-Day was a very, very expensive success! Toys R Us didn't do any preorders for this wave so every amiibo (aside from the other exclusives) was going to be available in-store on the 29th. The problem was I needed to grab a Jigglypuff from Walmart as well. Luckily, Walmart opens at 7am here and TRU opens at 9am on Fridays. Not 100% happy with the two hour buffer, my wife jumped in and volunteered as Tribute, to wait at TRU while I was off waiting at Walmart. All the while my son was hopping around with me. Side note: He was AMESOME throughout all of this. Let it be known: I have an amazing wife. I didn't even ASK her to help and she got up at 6am to wait outside by herself at a Toys R Us so her silly husband could own more plastic toys. Due to her heroic sacrifice (and being second in line) I was able to get Lucina and Robin, as well as pick up an extra Greninja for Fink. Side note: TRU threw all the amiibo, aside Greninja, into a bin. Pretty sloppy. Beardednerd ran from place-to-place with me as I picked up amiibo throughout the city, all the shile picking up a few for himself. Walmart here, TRU there, then EB Games for Ness. What a guy! It's also nifty that Windsor is a pretty small city, so I knew many of the people who were in the various lines. Lots of chatting and a bit of Smashing made for a fun morning. Oh, and McDonald's breakfast. That was important. Anyhoo, here is a poor photo of my (thus far) complete collection. I need to find a better way and place to display them! @deathly_hallowsI still see them kicking around at some stores so I think they'll be around for a while. Maybe return them? |
