Chicago - Apartment Warming II: THE REVENGE (aka Smash Wii U party)

OK IT'S OFFICIAL.

Day / time: Saturday, July 11th, 6 pm - ???
Location / my phone #: Don't want to post publicly PM me for it.
Confirmed almost definitely coming: Around 8-10 people, at various points. And this is actual confirmed as in people I know not just random Facebook "maybes". More may show up.

Non-alcoholic drinks and snacks will be provided. For anyone who needs food there is a Portillo's like 2 blocks away that is open until midnight, I believe? And some other food options. I have no issues with people bring alcohol too, these things just rarely seem to end up involving much drinking. (Probably because most people are driving and obviously we don't want drinking and driving.)

Here is what we may / will probably be playing:

Wii U
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (8 players!!!)
Mario Kart 8?
Sportsball (because uh... it supports 5 players and may as well try it since I bought it?)
???

PC / Steam
Duck Game
Towerfall Ascension
Samurai Gunn (hopefully can figure out how to make 4 controllers work this time)
Maybe that Gang Beasts game if we can actually figure out how to get it to work this time.
???

3DS
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS
Mario Kart 7
???

A bunch more too.

What I need other people to bring:
2 360 controllers (I only have 2)
2 more Wii U classic controllers if people don't want to get stuck with Wiimotes for 8 player Smash
1 More Wiimote... I guess? If we play Wii games?
Your own 3DS + copies of any multiplayer games you want to try
Any games you want to try that I didn't list above (might as well ask me first if I already have it though...)

Um, anyone with some rechargeable AA batteries it might be nice to have a few extras just in case.

Did this ever happen? Not that I'm available... or within a 200 mile radius.

No but I'm still planning on it. At this point though with the end of the school year coming up I figure it'd be easiest for me to just wait until June.

So I'm thinking sometime early July for this? Probably a Saturday or Sunday? What is everyone's availability? I'm guessing people will be busy on the 4th of July. Maybe the 11th?

Also I have a new game for us to try out. It's along the lines of Samurai Gunn / Towerfall. Duck Game!

@Zero

The weekend of the 11th probably works for me. I'm not currently aware of any plans then. As always, though, I do work Saturdays, so I'd get there a bit later in the afternoon or early evening.

@Koovaps
11th sounds okay, probably.
06/16/15, 17:41
Alright I will write it down on the tentative calendar.
06/16/15, 17:59
Everyone still good for this? I'm just waiting back on my cousin who is getting his work schedule tomorrow... if it all checks out, WE'LL DO IT.
07/02/15, 21:54
What's that, Saturday? Sounds like a plan, Stans.
07/03/15, 04:00
Next Saturday, correct?
07/03/15, 06:49
Yeah, the 11th. One week from this Saturday. I just want to see if my one cousin is free before finalizing it. If he's not... I dunno. Probably just do it that day anyway.
07/03/15, 07:23
3 more days!

Check the OP to see what people need to bring!
07/09/15, 03:17
I can bring my 3DS with Smash and some Xbox 360 controllers
07/09/15, 03:24
Awesome!

That reminds me I actually got a little dongle thingy that tricks my laptop into thinking my Wii U classic controller is an Xbox 360 controller and it seems to work so I may only need 1 more 360 controller.

...but probably 2 just to make sure.

So 360 controllers are covered? I'll bring some Wii U Pros. Is there going to be any PS3 action? Johann Sebastian Joust? Any interest in Buzz? Or N64 stuff?
07/09/15, 03:43
@Anand I forgot I have a PS3, lol.

Um... I have 2 PS3 controllers so if someone brings 2 more we will have 4 there. I don't have many 4 player PS3 games though so yeah if you want to play some, bring some.

Unless people want to play through my LittleBigPlanet stage... HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.

If a bunch of people come we can have one group on the TV and one group on the laptop. Well... or just do TV and handhelds. I dunno.

Yeah, TV/handheld probably sounds better. Crowding around a laptop doesn't really scream party. If you don't have Sportsfriends, or whatever, then we don't really need more PS3 controllers.

I could bring a 360, as well, but we probably have enough stuff to play.
07/09/15, 05:48
I went ahead and bought Spin the Bottle: Bumpy's Party for Wii U. That could be awkward uh... "fun".

I don't think we will need a 360. We do need either wireless 360 controllers or the bridge thingy for wired ones. Wireless is probably best.

Hmm, and if we do any Wii games maybe another Wii remote or two? I think I have 3 right now but not sure how well they work anymore.

Spin the Bottle is pretty fun. Not really too risque, either.

Assuming this will be the usual sausage festival.

I'll bring some extra Wii Remote Pluses and Nunchuks, so we can play... Strikers or the full suite of NintendoLand attractions?

I have wireless 360 controllers. But are four already covered between you and Dapper Dave?
07/10/15, 23:46
I think there might be SLIGHTLY more women than usual, because Shirley lives with me now (though she may be in and out) and my sister may come again. Or may not.

Dave, are you bringing Monika?

Tonight! Anyone who needs the address text me or PM me. It's also on the Facebook event page, I just didn't want to post it here since this is a public page.
