Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition) on the Wii U
8/10 from one rating

Welcome to the official discussion thread for Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition) on the Wii U!

To start, please add this game to your log, add it to your collection (if applicable), and (when you are ready) rate it using the link above!

So I picked this up after enjoying my limited time with the original, and I have to say I really like how they improved on it. It's a lot easier to level up characters and there's a lot more to do in the Toy Box, especially when it comes to creating levels. Disney has put out a few to show what can be done, and I'm impressed.

What say you? I saw a few of you pop up on my friends list that own it.

Hey, I saw you playing this too! Not that I've played that much yet, but so far I'm having fun. The few changes I've seen so far seem interesting. I really like the concept of the crossover coins in this. I didn't really see the need to play cross series in the first game, but here it makes sense. I haven't yet jumped into the new Toy Box mode. So far I've got 7 characters. All of the available Avengers plus Groot and Rocket Racoon. No other play sets yet, but I'll get them eventually. Leading up to this I've been finishing up messing with the first game, and I have plenty left to do there as well. I'm such a sucker for this stuff.

Still digging it. I'm bummed I have to wait to get the Hulk, but I do enjoy using everybody else. I especially enjoy flying around the city. Like every other game I play, I'm hoarding my skill points for no apparent reason. I imagine I will upgrade my guys sooner than later. And also like every other game, I like to keep most of my guys similarly leveled. I can't wait to get the other two play sets, and I still want to finish up all the stuff in 1.0. Man, with this and Hyrule Warriors, I've got plenty to keep me busy.

Yeah, the Toy Box is souped up from the original, and I like it. I have messed a bit with one of the Toy Box games (Escape the Kiln) and that's helped level up both Captain America and Black Widow to 5. I have the starter kit, Cap, Hawkeye, and Nick Fury (because why not). I've also got 20 of the original 29 (all of the Toy Story, Incredibles, Monsters U, and Pirates characters as well as Anna and Elsa, Wreck-It-Ralph and Venelope, Rapunzel, and Sorceror Mickey). I don't have any of the other play sets for 2.0, but I will try to snag them when they go on sale.

I'm hoping to unlock more toys soon and come up with my own game in the near future.

And yeah, I've got plenty more to do in the original...I only ever finished the Pirates play set to completion. Still need to go through The Incredibles, Monsters U, and Toy Story.

@ludist210

Nice! I've got 23 of the original characters. I'm only missing Phineas and Perry, Buzz and Jessie (I don't have the Toy Story set yet), Davy Jones, and Randall (impossible to find now! argh!!!) I actually haven't finished any of the original play sets, but spent quite some time in most of them. I will say that the Lone Ranger set is surprisingly fun. Shooting and riding horses and eventually flying, all super enjoyable! How's the Toy Story set?

I would love to mess with the Toy Box stuff more, but it seems I barely find the time to play the rest of the game, let alone crafting my own nonsense. We'll see. Btw, characters are buy 2 get 1 free at Target this week.

@Koovaps

I had to pay out the nose (read: more than MSRP) for Randall ($19 new) and Violet ($22 used, but in great shape). The rest were easy to find. I've been on the fence about the Lone Ranger play set since it's relatively cheap, but I've got more than enough for now. I got Syndrome at 2nd & Charles for $8 (used, but in excellent condition) and found Davy Jones at Best Buy. He was the last one left. Toys R Us still carries him, so you might run into one of those and grab one.

I have yet to try the Toy Story play set.

So I made a "level" and shared it with all my friends. Basically, you want to grind for levels? This does it automatically. Not super fast, but helpful if you want to grind out those last few levels.

Digital version is on the eShop. I also snagged Merida and Donald Duck today.

Well, I'm forbidden from getting myself anything until Christmas, so no new Disney characters for me until then. And I haven't played this in a while, I have to get back to it. And the first one.

Well, I got quite the Infinity haul today. I got all the first games characters I needed, excepting Randall. (He seems to be selling at reasonable prices on ebay. I'll likely grab him up soon.) I also got all of the remaining loose characters for 2.0, both Marvel and Disney. Now I only need the Spider-Man and Guardians play sets. I can't wait to dive back into these games!

Nice! I got Stitch and Maleficent today, and I picked up Hiro and Baymax last week on sale. I just need Tink, Aladdin, and Jasmine to complete the originals for 2.0. In also going to get Cars and Lone Ranger to get a complete set... possibly get all of the crystal figures for my birthday.

Also, I friended you on Wii U. I thought we were buddies on there, but I guess I was mistaken...

Got the Avengers Starter Set for Xmas and I'm really digging it. Reminds me of a mix between the Ultimate Alliance games and the LEGO games. Along with Iron Man, Black Widow, and Thor in the starter set I also got Hulk and Groot as gifts, and I bought the Spider-Man set (with Spidey and Nova) and Captain America myself.

I haven't dug into the Toy Box mode too much, but this really seems like a game I could play for a long, long time.

Avengers was probably the most fun of the three new toy boxes...Spider-Man is decent. I'm working through the last of the gold medal challenges on that one right now (just two or three left, I think), but the story was a little strange in that one. In Avengers and Guardians, the team worked together throughout the whole adventure (story-wise), but the sense of teamwork was non-existant until near the end of that play set.

@ludist210 Yeah, it feels like in the Avengers set I was constantly switching figures - this seems more like a Widow mission, this is a Thor mission, that sort of thing. In the Spider-Man set it's almost the opposite...I've used Nova once for five minutes just flying around and then switched right back to Spidey for more missions.

@TeamBrian1020

The challenges are a different beast in Spider-Man...I hate the web-slinging challenges. I've got a silver on "Rooftop Rings" and yet another opened up, but I think that's the last challenge. I hope so anyway.

Nova was by far the best character for that set, but I had more fun using Venom and Spidey (especially once you upgrade Venom so he can swing freely) because Nova almost felt like cheating (much like Iron Man or Thor in Avengers).

Feel free to add me on Wii U! I still play regularly. Ludist210.
