As you can see, there really is something for everyone, perhaps more than ever before. As I wrote this whole post up, I was listening to the Super Smash Bros. Brawl soundtrack and remembering the hours and days and weeks and months of fun I've had with that game. This will be no different and really will shake the Wii U community up in the best ways. Nintendo is on the eve of quite possible the most acclaimed game the console will have. This is a very exciting moment for Nintendo gamers. The 3DS version is to have two-songs per stage but the Wii U version is meant to have that and more, even some songs from past games as well.

The release date in North America is November 21st and it was just moved up to November 28th in Europe. For all other regions you can expect December 5th. In the mean time, there's always the 3DS version which looks incredible in it's own right! You can discuss it in Jargon's thread here; Super Smash Bros. 3DS. We should aim to keep this thread focused on the Wii U version so that the 3DS discussion ends up in it's right place. Keep in mind that the Daily Updates are still being provided by Sakurai (for a few more weeks at least) and the best place to find and discuss those is Stephen's Super Smash Bros. I'm still loving this game of course. For Glory doesn't get old for me. I do want to branch out and use more characters however, as always using Samus seems kinda cheap and easy. It's way easier for me to lose with others, even my co mains. I've noticed how OP Ike and Link are for example though. They're so easy to win with that I purposefully avoid using them.
Awaiting the inevitable Switch version. Smash 4 has been a very strong contender for game of the generation for me.
Smash 4 wins my game of the generation by a mile. Few things would get me on board with Switch faster than a Smash 4 Complete Edition port with even just one or two new characters and all the stages from both the Wii U and 3DS versions. (And, you know, a chat and/or multiplayer invite function in the OS!)
@carlosrox A Switch version of the game with all stages that already exist is being spoiled, but an all-new singleplayer mode and improved visuals aren't?
Although, now that I think about it, I'd prefer to just have a few more stage layouts available when playing For Glory. Even the most anal Serious Business Tournaments have at least 5 stages available, not just "Omega" stages. Maybe revamp those Omega stages into simple-but-not-just-flat stuff more like Battlefield and the Animal Crossing stages, with a couple platforms floating around for variety? We could use more "happy medium" stages between Final Destination and the nuttier battlegrounds like the Pac-Man sidescroller...
So long as they at least bring back Ivysaur, Ice Climbers, and some of the older and current 3DS stages ((New Pork City, Poké Floats, Shadow Moses Island (whether Snake makes it back in or not!), Magicant, Tortimer Island, Fourside, Balloon Fight)), I'll be happy. Of course, they also need to tweak the mechanics so it's not such a spammy combo heavy game, and kick out Bayonetta, Cloud, and dumb down Corrin.
And yes, they need more options than just for fun and for glory, and better match players based on skill. They also need to have a mode for people to just goof around, as so many want to do that, and while fun at times, it gets super old.
@nate38 Yeah, like I said around the time the game came out, the whole "omega" stage thing is a good idea, but poorly executed. I'm pretty sure they're all even the same platform size, so it's only the presentation that changes between them. Instead, I think an option to simply turn off stage hazards would be a much better idea, and even such a simple option increases the stage variety by a lot. It would also result in more stages being available for competitive play: take the Gamer stage for example, remove the mother-glare gimmick and the stage is pretty straightforward, but not flat.
@nate38 My wifi has been a total sack of ____ for the past few days making Smash play really hard. Pissing me off already, I've been itching to play it, and I only feel like doing For Glory when I'm alone. If I'm with a friend or brother local is cool though.
All I have are my replays which I find fun to watch! That actually semi scratches the itch!

This fight is almost the opposite.
He's one of my favorites too use and one of my mains (I guess I have several at this point, but they all pale to my knowledge of Samus) but I don't use him in For Glory as much thanks to it usually being the Samus show for me. That fall is a tragic mistake.
Second round with him. I have no idea how in the actual fuck that side Smash doesn't kill him when he was blatantly inside it and not in any recovery frames.... Can someone explain that? Robbed of a great, risky KO. Edit: Oh, he dodged it. Wow looks like perfect timing on his part. Eh, I was too up smashy that round. No bueno.
Beating the character I arguably like the least in the game always feels so good :) Especially a mauling like this.
Beautiful choreography. I want my fucking SMASH SWITCH!!!!!!!!! I adore Samus' well roundedness and unorthodox moves.
God Lucina and Marth are dangerous with their weird range and very powerful moves.

We need to do some Ike dittos sometime, since we both use him a lot. That matchup is savage: Ike is ridiculously good at punishing his own weaknesses, haha. Maybe my favorite matchup in the entire game.
