Every new generation a great dawn emerges where a new game in the acclaimed Super Smash Bros. series graces Nintendo's newest consoles… for the Wii U, that time is almost upon us. Nintendo is truly pulling out all the stops with this one. Here's the breakdown on what we can expect… (Learn more at the Super Smash Bros. website.)
1.) 45+ playable characters (new characters, returning fighters, or accessible via alt costumes) 2.) Releasing November 21st, November 28th, or December 5th depending on your region 3.) Tons of content; from trophies to levels to music tracks to items to pokemon to modes… it seemingly never ends! 4.) Customizable Move-sets 5.) Many control setups; Wii U Gamepad, standard Wii U options, Gamecube controllers, even your 3DS! 6.) Online capable (and encouraged) 7.) Check out Nintendo's 50 Things You Should Know about Smash Bros! 8.) Stages exclusive to the Wii U version. Some epic stages! 9.) Amiibo Support for all existing Amiibos 10.) Gameplay lands somewhere between Melee and Brawl
As you can see, there really is something for everyone, perhaps more than ever before. As I wrote this whole post up, I was listening to the Super Smash Bros. Brawl soundtrack and remembering the hours and days and weeks and months of fun I've had with that game. This will be no different and really will shake the Wii U community up in the best ways. Nintendo is on the eve of quite possible the most acclaimed game the console will have. This is a very exciting moment for Nintendo gamers. Speaking back on the music, you can listen to a bunch of neat samples from the upcoming game at the SmashBros.com Music Page. Be sure to check out Kapp'n's Song! It's a personal favorite of mine. The 3DS version is to have two-songs per stage but the Wii U version is meant to have that and more, even some songs from past games as well.
Please enjoy a few of my favorite images found on the official Super Smash Bros. website.
The release date in North America is November 21st and it was just moved up to November 28th in Europe. For all other regions you can expect December 5th. In the mean time, there's always the 3DS version which looks incredible in it's own right! You can discuss it in Jargon's thread here; Super Smash Bros. 3DS. We should aim to keep this thread focused on the Wii U version so that the 3DS discussion ends up in it's right place. Keep in mind that the Daily Updates are still being provided by Sakurai (for a few more weeks at least) and the best place to find and discuss those is Stephen's Super Smash Bros. News Discussion (Roster Spoilers) Now With Daily Images thread. I do my best to update that daily with the Sakurai posts.
Who is your main? What are you most excited for? Finally, be sure to have your friends added on your Wii U! I'll do my best to keep this thread updated with the various users who are playing this online.

@nate38 Haha yeah you're totally right. That music absolutely made things much more frantic!
Yep, I run into those kind of guys all the time. I'm guessing I'm getting paired up with people closer to me, which would explain a lot of the jerks. We seem to have the opposite experience, which is probably why I'm quicker to assume people are being jerks/poor sports.
First time giving the replay upload a run. Had some fun with Kirby earlier today and wanted to share it with you guys. Nothing too impressive, besides this one very good read that gets me a kill.
Oh my god I'm an IDIOT!!! I just had this awesome round that I was meaning to save...but I skipped past the save replay!! WHAT WAS I THINKING?? Eh it wasn't earth shattering but I still really really liked the end. I KOed a Robin in For Glory with his BOOK that he dropped!! He was just flying off the ledge as he dropped his book there, he was about to make it back, but I dash attacked into his book, grabbed it, jumped right over the ledge and threw the book straight down making him fly too far to recover. And the game was lagging a lil bit there so I didn't get to see it smoothly! Goddamnit that was a good little win! I wanted to share it :'(
Oh well, I got a few other good replays I'll upload as well in a sec.
Scored another perfect (against Gannondorf again no less)! I'd say the heavy characters are way too easy to manhandle. The one that gives the most resistance seems to be Dedede and to a lesser extent DK. This was a little too easy and it seems he gave up somewhere in there. It's not the best, but a perfect win is a perfect win! That guy really needed to ease up on his shield.
This other guy I fought, I did 2/3 against him. The first round I beat him pretty nicely. Next round he switched to what was clearly his main (Mega Man) and honestly tore me apart. He did 2 0 against me. He then proceeded to say how much I sucked, that he was too fast for me (2fast4u), and GTFO. So I came to the third round with something to prove, and a little fear in my heart. The fucker honestly was fast, and he picked me apart real well in that second round. So here's the third. Oh and his name during this match was GTFO.
Here's a prime of example of annoying spam. The funny thing is, this guy was acting like he was doing it to get revenge on me. I mean, he called me a spammer (I didn't do anything close to what he did in this match, you have seen how I play) before AND AFTER this match! Fuckin' ridiculous! And the over reliance on the up smash is something I find annoying from any character, but Link's is especially OP. Best up smash in the game? And non stop projectiles? Goddamn.
This guy was dead wrong if he thought his stupid antics were amusing me. Very close game spoiled by that guy's annoying shit. Can't stand poor sport winners. Just cuz he beats me once he has to do taunt shit. Didn't fuck with him when I won.
This was a pretty decent round, but it got a little sloppier than I'd have liked through much of it. I hate fighting characters that are strong in the air like Sheik and Fox. There's several moves that you swear won't hit you, and they just do. Every damn time. It's gotta be something with the posing of the attack or something. But the jumping fish kick (?), and all of Shiek and Fox' air moves reach longer than they appear. Gets me every time.
@carlosrox Who doesn't love Kirby's little Hop Dance! It's adorable and I laugh every time I see it. And his "Hi!" taunt was after you had a pretty funny KO on him, which makes me think it's more "Woops!" or even "Nice!" than an actual taunt taunt. Of course I didn't see any of the other matches, but from this one alone I'd say that guy seemed real cool.
And in that Link's defense, you do use projectiles more than most Samus players I've seen. But why shouldn't you? They're a big part of her repertoire and you use them really well. I mean, I'll admit I get annoyed when a strong projectile character walls me out. I was playing a Mega Man last night who I beat consistently, then he got a little campy and won by a Time Over decision with a very slight lead. But that's just how Mega Man works. I can't grudge that. Especially since my Bowser Jr just leaves mecha-koopas everywhere, haha.
I also played a Little Mac for the first time in a while, and it showed. He was decent, but I forgot just how careful you have to play against Mac. He just leaves zero openings between his attacks, and so much super armor. Got destroyed a bunch of games before I eventually figured him out again and won a few.
Also had this match with some friends online the other day. The whole thing is pretty funny to me, but the end is priceless.
Checked my character usage the other day, too. Poor Wario, I don't know what the Random slot has against him!
WOW! I came here to post something I assumed you'd be posting too: that Mario Maker killed (very strong word, simple hyperbole) my interest in Smash Bros. And what I'm welcomed to is a fucking STAGE of it?? Goddamn!!!!!!
Nintendo's making it so easy to love them right now!!
@carlosrox I haven't been feeling that way at all. I'm a little disappointed in Mario Maker so far. Well, not so much the game itself, but the community...there's just so many crappy levels out there, choking up the 100-Mario Challenge. I'm hopeful that the cream will rise to the top eventually, but so far I have no problem putting the game down to Smash.
@nate38 Well I definitely still love Smash 4 and will absolutely continue to play it but I must say I haven't touched it since Mario Maker came out. And that game eats up my time like crazy.
I'm blown away. It exceeded expectations I wasn't even sure I had, it's crazy.
If you want good levels then Follow me (and other people on NW) :)
If they do a Splatoon stage they should totally do something with a boy and girl inkling inking up the map, which players can actually get stuck in or something.
