Do Custom Moves for other fighters get dropped on a more consistent basis when using the Mii Fighter or something?

Seems to be. I've been cleaning up in them. Cleared out five characters since I started using Miis today.

It might be due to the game update. Were you getting that many before?

@Anand

This is pre-update. It also seems to work with MewTwo. I think the way it works is that normally you're most likely to get your own Custom. Since Miis and MewTwo don't have their own Customs, it's just random, which makes it easier to get everybody's.

At long last I've collected every Smash Run power!

Nice! Is there anything that can be done to speed of the process? How much grinding did it take?

@Hero_Of_Hyrule

It took a lot of grinding. Nothing I know of to speed things up, but playing as MewTwo or a Mii did help me get more Customs while I was at it.

Speaking of Mewtwo, so glad he's back! He looks cool, and he's just as good of a fighter as he was back in the Melee days!

Charging up that Shadow Ball always looks awesome.

I think I'll just hammer that Smash Run power thing. Although I DO enjoy Smash Run.

@Anand

Sure, if you don't mind your accomplishment being forever tainted.

I don't!

I'm actually more embarrassed by completionism than proud of it. I have a bit of that tendency, though.

Man, I really appreciate the fact that this franchise is portable. I was out of town this past weekend, but I was thankfully still able to get my Smash on, even when I wasn't at home. Even better, after my flight home was delay for over an hour (why does this kind of thing always happen?) I was able to just open up my 3DS, connect to the airport's Wi-Fi, and play a bunch of online matches while I waited. So awesome. Love being able to take Super Smash Bros. with me, anywhere I go.

Of course, the people I played online pretty much curb-stomped me, but hey. It's better to get your butt kicked online in Smash for an hour than just sitting there waiting, like a jerk.

Fun games last night! I'm still not confident in my edge-guarding skills with Shulk as you probably could tell.

And I agree that Mewtwo is a blast to play as. It's weight and attack power are dissimilar in an appealing way.

@Octorockin

Yeah, that was fun! I gotta admit, playing against you was unexpectedly (and unintentionally) hilarious! I may have to explain...

We'd have a good back 'n forth going as far as damage goes, and every so once in a while, I'd finally get in a good Smash or other attack. Your character would go flying, and I'd be all like, "Whew, finally! That's one stock down..." but then I'd cut myself off as you made your way back to the platform. So then I'd run at you again, get a good hit in, and figure "okay, THIS time I got 'im!"

But then you'd come right back, lol!

I swear that must've happened like five times in a row, lulz. It was like "BAM!" *recovery* "BAM!" *recovery* "BAM!" *recovery*

and I dunno...I started cracking up at it. Like, *each* time I just knew I got you - I KNEW it - but then here's Peter again, doing some excellent recovery and staying alive! Did I get him? Oh...maybe? Yes? Yes! Oh. Wait. Nope. Here comes.

It may have been a "had to be there" kind of thing, but I was seriously starting to crack up!

Anyway, good games, man! Let's play again soon! Cheers!

I think I was just as surprised as you were during some of those moments! Haha. The match we played on the Super Mario 3D Land stage was full of unexpected goofiness.

That stage, by the way, looks AMAZING in 3D. I'm enjoying this game even more since I moved to the New 3DS from the 2DS.

Got this done today:

When I cleared it, I was all:

@GameDadGrant

Nice! On the 3DS version I can proudly say I did that too. Who did you use? Any mods to them?

I think I used a slightly buffed Ike.
05/21/15, 00:44
@DrFinkelstein

Yeah, I used a customized Bowser. Buffed up his Defense and a bit of his attack. He moved SUPER-slow, but...eh, he's basically a tank so it worked out.

One more Challenge left..."Collect All Custom Moves, Gear, and Costumes" ...something like that. Time to grind in Smash Run...!
05/22/15, 22:41
I really have to wonder why the world you play in in Smash Run wasn't designed to be totally randomly generated. You have to play it sooo much to unlock everything and it would definitely keep things fresher if you didn't know exactly where everything might be, as I do at this point. Missed opportunity.

Finally finished collecting all the custom moves. With that challenge down, the only two left are playing time ones that hopefully will unlock from playing online with friends. Can anyone confirm that that mode counts towards unlocking those?

I've still got a few trophies to collect as well, although I'm not sure how. I never get new trophies from Smash Run and there's never new trophies in the shop. I'll have to check that out later.

I'm happy to retire from Smash Run at this point. I thought it was a good mode, but I've had my fill, although perhaps I'll try playing it with someone locally someday.

The good news is I've just got lots of new 3DS games to play with the Humble Nindie Bundle, so I'll still have something to during my lunch break else than Pokemon Shuffle or Streetpass gae.
