Amiibo figures can now be preordered for $12.99 apiece. The first dozen are Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Kirby, Pikachu, Fox, Yoshi, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Peach, and Marth.

In addition to being featured in Smash Bros Wii U + 3DS, these guys will also be used in Mario Kart 8, Captain Toad, Mario Party 10, and Yoshi's Wooly World.

Will you be picking any of them up? Which ones?

Where can they be preordered?

Eep.
That's a pricey dozen.

I still want to see how they work with the games and what they actually do before I think about buying them. Especially at that much a piece.

Wake me up when they make a Ness amiibo.

That's as much as a Disney Infinity figure, so price isn't an issue for me...but what specifically will they do? That's what I'm waiting on.

I'm in the same boat. The Original Eight aren't all that interesting to me (they've all had plenty of toys, many of which I own) and the additional four aren't really my favorites. In fact, if I had to get one of these, I might actually get Wii Fit Trainer. She was fun at E3.

But what I'm really waiting for is Ness, Mega Man, and/or possibly Pit and Palutena. I hope at least one of those comes out before the Wii U release.

If I get one, I'll probably get Samus.

Samus has the coolest looking one, but $13 for each without knowing what they really do is pretty steep.

Yeah, I don't think most people will get more than a handful of them. Only the big diehards would dare collect 'em all, but I can see them making decent gifts for people who love Nintendo stuff.

I just pre-ordered them all from Amazon but I'm probably going to cut it back to four or five to start with. But since I can't decide which ones I really want first, I went ahead and pre-ordered them all for now lol

Of these, I'm only really interested in Samus. I've got Mario, Peach and Yoshi stuff already.

Will get Link, Fox, Samus, and Marth. Waiting for Shulk, Little Mac, Falco, Toon Link, Robin, Luigi, and Captain Falcon.

I hope these are made widely available. And have a large production run. I don't want to go out to the store and realize there are no Mario or Pikachu figures to buy, because they are always sold out.

Future Meet-Up White Elephanters, take note.

Probably grab a Peach for the Mrs_, and I'll weep until Luigi shows up.

And I would've bought an Ike Amiibo right off the production floor. STUFF IT, MARTH.

Samus and Link are my other frontrunners. I'll probably reserve one when I go to pick up Hyrule Warriors at GameStop.

These seem expensive, how does this price compare to Skylanders and Disney Infinity figures? Man, stores must be struggling to find space for all this junk, they're going to need like a separate videogame figure section soon!

The only scenario I can image where I would get some of these is if they function more like DLC in future games and unlock significant content, but I would wait for some sort of sale of course.

I'm buying the Link and Samus for damn sure.

@Mop it up

Most Disney Infinity figures stand-alone are $12.99 retail. They often bundle two or three together (with additional DI stuff) together for $30-$35. So it's on par with those prices.

I wish they were more of an actual toy/action figure, rather than a static figurine. That way I could let my kids play with them while also benefiting from the NFC interactions.

I will have them all. And I hate that I really like the packaging.
