@JargonIt's a little complicated, but Sea Snails basically let you change your bonuses on your clothes. You know how you get those different abilities unlocked on your gear? If you talk to Spyke (the street "urchin" in the alley of Inkopolis), he'll change your bonuses for you. It costs 30,000 gold, or if you have a Sea Snail, just one of those. The point of this is so that you can pick the clothes you want but also deck it out in bonuses you'd like too (although they're chosen at random). Oh, they also add a "slot" to your gear if it has less than four total. Your mileage may vary, but I find that after I used the first couple Sea Snails, I was set with my clothes and didn't really need any more Snails. You can get almost thirty per Splatfest depending on how well you do. I really like the GamePad controls too. If the NX has a pointer-type Wii Remote style of control, I think that'd be a good substitute though. I guess we'll have to see, because I'm sort of half-expecting it to be backwards-compatible with the Wii U regardless, which might mean GamePad support. |
