So...Tomodachi Life is a game that exists. It is rather difficult to describe, as it does not really adhere to "standard" game parameters that we know. It's kind of like a mix of The Sims, Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon and...Nintendogs, I suppose?
The game centers around Mii characters created or imported in the game by the player, and they live out their lives on an island. The player can interact with the various Miis, by giving them gifts, talking with them, solving problems, or just watching them do random stuff. And that's it. It doesn't sound very compelling, but it can be rather charming.
In any case, who else has this game? What are your thoughts so far? How goes life on your island? How goes...your friends, your drama, your life?
I was watching some of the videos you guys posted and this game looks really fun! Why do all these cool, new games keep coming out?! I can't possbly be expected to keep up with all of them, but I really want this now.
I have $15 in my eshop acct due to the MK8 purchase and Pikmin 3. I was saving this money for something special. Do you guys think this game is worth $20? Thats what I would have to pay, out of pocket. I've never played Animal Xing, and I noticed a few of you mentioned TL was sortof along the lines of AC, in terms of short bursts of play sessions per day. I don't mind that, but is there enough content to keep things new and fresh for at least a month or so, if one just played the game like around 30 minutes a day?
I would be a little upset if after a week or two, I would have experienced everything the game has to offer. Thanks in advance for any input.
@gamewizard65 I would say you will get as much enjoyment out of the title with however much you put into it. There's tons of customization and random silliness that you have control over. And with Miis, the possibilities are near limitless. I can't wait to get official Nintendo Miis via SpotPass of Iwata, Sakurai, Miyamoto, Aonuma, etc. to get into all sorts of hijinks with me and others on the island.
You guys! I'm surprised Ploot thinks it might not be for me. I understand GDG's points as well. The game did just release. Even though I've never tried an Animal Xing game, I actually really wanted to buy the 3ds version. Same feeling for Tomodachi Life. What stops me from buying most games is the fact how many I own and have not played or finished. It usually has nothing to do with the game itself. Ifeel a little guilty buying a new game, due to all the ones I own and I'm afraid any new games I do buy will meet the same fate as all the rest.
I decided to go ahead and grab some of the celebrity Miis...I scanned the QR codes for Christina Aguilera and Shaquille O'Neal. Might grab Shaun White, too...but undecided. Not sure who the other two celebs are...some Disney or Nickelodeon kids, I'm guessing?
