This May, one game will define MULTIPLAYER FUN on Wii U. That game, is Mario Kart 8!


Mario Kart has been a Nintendo staple since it's SNES debut over two decades ago. Only two Nintendo products neglected to have an entry and each entry that has existed is a charming title in someone's eyes. Entries like Double Dash on Gamecube helped push the boundaries of creativity and uniqueness, while more recent titles have continued to refine a core experience. Mario Kart 8 seeks to continue that trend with it's jaw-dropping HD visuals, Anti-gravity racing, and incredibly well-designed tracks.


With all the characters known, the deep customization possibilities to each individual racer, the classic 32-total track count... there's so much to discuss and share and debate. Reviews are just coming in now and while I'll post a few below but they're not all gushing with pride. User Stephen recently made a thread aiming to have a more comprehensive list of reviews available. So... @TriforceBun considering they introduced metal mario in his place yes, that is an issue I had with that game, (I hate waluigi but metal mario is even worse

The character design of metal mario is a perfect representation of mk7 as a whole, lazy, half-assed, unpolished, and rushed.

And give me one good reason why we don't have single player VS. Mode.

There was an official thread for that yes, but it's relevant to know who of those names is playing Mario Kart 8, to ensure not only who we should expect to see, but also to ensure we have the right users added in case there's a shortage of space. I think MopItUp was aiming for something like that and I would have to agree.

Any Mario Kart 8 gamers interested in giving your first impressions on the podcast this weekend? We will talk about upcoming E3 a little bit and play a fun music game relating to Mario Kart music.. still open spots on the show. Looking to record 7PM EST Friday but Saturday late morning/early afternoon is also an option.

It's 3D World though, not NSMBU. Don't sell your NSMBU, you won't get it back!

At the risk of sounding uncompassionate, who the heck cares about Vs. mode? Anything that mode does, GP and online do far better. I don't understand the appeal of Vs. mode at this point in modern game design. And why would a dumb character choice effect you that much if you still get to play with a bunch of other characters you like?
