Possible Wii U Game Ideas That Nintendo Could Implement Without A Lot of Work [roundtable]

Let me explain: This thread is to suggest ideas/properties that Nintendo has already laid a lot of the groundwork for that they could easily move to the Wii U without a lot of effort (relatively speaking).

Here's an example of what I mean: "Kid Icarus: Light and Dark" for the Wii U. If they aren't going to make a full port of Uprising (which I have my fingers crossed they will) another good idea might be to simply port the multiplayer battle arena mode "Light and Dark" into its own standalone eShop game. It's a fun mode, could work on its own for the right price, and most of the legwork is already done on it. Why not?

Here's another: "Pac Man Vs U". Why not make a Wii U version of that old E3 favorite? The design is already there, it'd just be a matter of implementing it on the new hardware. Seems pretty possible to me. And the title pun is irresistible.

Any other ideas like this? Suggest anything that Nintendo's already mostly completed - which still has some modern appeal, of course - that would presumably be easy to port to the Wii U.

Star Fox game where you're forced to play in 1st Person mode w/ the GamePad. One of the sticks moves crosshairs while the other moves you. That would probably get annoying in about 8 seconds.

I don't know.

A Fatal Frame game where you use your GamePad as if it were the actual Camera Obscura, by holding it up and looking around your room "through" the touch screen while snapping ghosts. Ideally I'd want a brand new game with this type of control, but if they want to make it easy on themselves they could just re-release Fatal Frame IV worldwide, with some fancy schmancy HD texture work and the new controls. I'd buy it twice.

Pac-Man Vs. U sounds good. Perfectly fit for the eShop, and would make a great budget title.

I love KIU, but a big part of the game's multiplayer appeal was in the constant fusion and acquisition of new/better weapons. Hopefully they'd find a way to keep that element in without the 1P mode. I think the game's controls could work with a pointer.

I think the idea of using the GamePad as a second screen that can see things the TV can't see is a woefully under-utilized idea. Metroid Prime in particular could do great things with it.

Yeah, it definitely has potential for that sort of thing. The blacklight scanner in ZombiU was a really cool addition, and I'm sure a Metroid Prime game could do it even better. There was some Wii U specific concept art for Armikrog a while back, where you could gaze into the afterlife or something like that by holding up the GamePad and looking around, but other than that there seems to be a lack of games with that feature on the horizon. Sad.

Zelda 4 Swords, cut from the cloth of Link Between Worlds. Online play and/or download play compatible with 3DS systems. Please and thank you.

And then make a Mole Mania revival from that 4 Swords's game engine (the original was adapted from Link's Awakening after all). For multiplayer, Player 1 is Muddy Mole underground on the Gamepad, Player 2 is evil farmer Jinbe hunting him above ground on the TV.

Arkham Origins local multiplayer - Batman on the Gamepad with the thugs on the TV.

Smash Bros - only the person with the Gamepad can see health percentages.

An old school FF game - player inventory etc on Gamepad

Rogue Squadron - Gamepad is the targeting computer

Zelda - write on your maps which are always on bottom screen. This was a huge pain in SS.
