In your opinion, what's the best game that ever came out of Capcom (either developed or produced)? [roundtable]

A simple question, with a very difficult answer, IMO. Capcom is one of the best developers/publishers in the industry. And they've been a good partner with Nintendo for years, delivering some amazing games and experiences for decades. What would you say is the best we've seen from them?

Draw upon your own standard for what constitutes as "best" and if you can, explain your decision. Let's hear your thoughts, Negative World!

@ploot Never played any, and there sure are a lot of them. I wouldn't even know where to begin there.

Start with the first game (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney). The stories and characters are so freakin' good and charming!

@TriforceBun Aren't there like a few different versions of the original game out there? It's confusing to figure out what's a remake, re-release, or spin-off!

@Mop it up

Whatever you do, don't play Miles Edgeworth until very last. Because once you play the best game in the series, all the others just make you wish you were playing as Miles "Doesn't Just Bluff His Way Through Cases" Edgeworth.

@Mop it up As far as I know nothing has been remade in the West, though there is currently some Japan-only remake thingy on the way? But for now in the West there are the original DS versions (+ recent 3DS digital download only) and then the WiiWare ports which are basically just the same games as the DS ones. So might as well start with the first one, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, on DS or WiiWare, whichever you please. And from there they basically go in linear order.

There is also the 2 game Miles Edgeworth side series, only one of which has made it to the West. And the upcoming crossover with Layton.

@Zero

The first three DS games are actually ports of GBA games, and the first DS port's fifth case wasn't in the original release.

But the GBA versions were only released in Japan, so who cares.

To clarify:

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (DS, WiiWare)
Phoenix Wright: Justice for all (DS,WiiWare)
Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations (DS,WiiWare)
Apollo Justice:Ace Attorney (DS)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney- Dual Destinies (3DS)

That's the main 5, look into the other games afterwards I guess.

...Also, I just noted that the third game is basically 'Phoenix Wright Tri' (Trials and Tribulations). Nice one Capcom.

The Minish Cap

It's my favorite Zelda game, and Zelda is probably my favorite series, so I don't see how I could say anything else from Capcom is better to me.

Nes: Bionic Commando
SNES: Street Fighter 2/Mega Man X
n64: MM64
Gamecube: Resident Evil/Resident Evil 4/Viewtiful Joe

They have a long list of games so its pretty damn hard to whittle it down

Man, this is tough...

NES Bionic Commando vs. Arcade Strider... vs. Monster Hunter, I guess? It's like Sophie's Choice here!

GAH! Bionic Commando.
