What does "Host a Friend" do? I haven't tried.

@Mr_Mustache

Just tried it, and Host Friend works like most other Nintendo games.

You choose which type of game you want to host, and then stare at the loading screen until your friend goes to Join Friend and picks your game.

Done. I also added you, @kgtennispro.

I guess it would be a good habit (for us) to check that when first signing on, to see if anyone is laying in wait?

@Mr_Mustache

But who is going to sit in a waiting room, unable to play the game, on the off chance that someone will come on and check it out.

They should have at least had the option of inviting someone who is playing against strangers to play against you instead.

Played some great matches today with "InsertCoin". We were basically equals. I won slightly more but all the matches were intense. Man, one of life's great pleasures.

I'll probably get this. I'm a sucker for Dr Mario.

Man, has anyone really dug into Virus Buster? I was diggin' the heck out of Operation L, but VB is pretty rad. I got up to Lv24 (I'm sure you guys can do better), and time just floated away from me while doing it. Pretty neat!

@Jargon

Yeah, thats true. I do it all the time on Monster Hunter. And yes, sometimes it is a LOT less fun than advertised.. Meanwhile, the people I'm waiting for online are Offline playing Single Player, haha -- and I can see them! They can't see me, but yeah. You'd really think there'd be some sort of paging system OUTSIDE fo the blue light blinking: "Mr_Mustache has just signed on." I could be playing ANYTHING though.

I'm not often one to do this because I know better, but playing Virus Buster is exactly like playing a handheld game.

It's pretty fun because you can drag the falling pieces after you make a match. Plus, the soothing music!

@ploot

The large, clear visuals say otherwise!

I don't like the music that much. Yeah, its pretty slow. Too slow..

I haven't tried VB yet! Operation L is pretty awesome but I haven't really got the hang of it yet. Of course I feel more successful when I'm not playing against someone else.

I tend to stick with Retro Remedy when I play online still. I play under Paul's account though, it's just easier because he's friends with everyone. I do check to see who's online and playing Dr. Luigi multiple times while I'm on, but it hasn't worked out yet.

@TK_Thunder

You don't have your own account?! You gotta have yourself in WARA WARA PLAZA! Nikki always says "I've been playing Netflix!" *sigh* I did show her the game the other day though, and she spent a long while on VB. Check it oot!

I played up to Lv20 on Op L last night. I'll probably play some more soon. It works as Tetris 2 does; you can only restart at 20, and not necessarily where you left off, so I figure I'd save 20---> for when I felt like playing a long session.

@Mr_Mustache

Oh, don't worry! I have my own account and there's a Mii of me dancing periodically in the Plaza as they do, I just haven't bothered adding anyone any friends so I use Paul's account when I play. I'm glad she likes it! I'll try it out sometime this evening!

Ahh, that's good to know. I think it'll take me a while yet to get to 20 with Operation L. One day, though!

@TK_Thunder

Op L was really attractive to me at first, but..I dunno, I suppose it is kinda simplistic. I'm on a RIDICULOUS losing streak online, too. I'm back to 5000, and I've only got 14 Wins. Terrible. I just lay down for anybody!

I'm thinking of getting this after all. Ever since getting NES Remix 2, I've gotten more into Dr Mario, and Karen and I have been having a lot of fun playing against each other in the Wiiware game.

How's the music? Any better than the Wiiware version's?

Anyone have this and want to set up some matches (classic mode preferred)? I'm rusty but it'd be fun to get back into it.

@Jargon

I started playing Dr. Luigi a few days ago and would be up for some multiplayer sometime. I'm not very good yet, though, so perhaps I should get some more practice in before we play. What's your schedule like?
Posted: 04/02/15, 23:25:06
@canonj

I can mostly play Friday and Saturday nights EST (Saturday and Sunday morning, my time).
