I'm going to be playing this against Jargon.

The $15 price tag is a bit off-putting, but my love of puzzle games will most likely overrule my better judgment when this releases next week

Dr. Mario is one of my all-time favorite puzzle games, but for $15 bucks and the fact I have a slew of games to play right now, I'll wait on this for a bit.

They should have priced this at $7, you know, an upside down L.

@Abdooooo

BAM! Totally agree!
12/27/13, 05:32
I'd be more tempted if this were on the 3DS. I hardly play puzzles games on console. But I eat them up on portables.

I watched the trailer and it just seems like more Dr. Mario. Yes, there's the L-shaped mode, but that seems like an extra. Fifteen bucks is asking a little too much.

@gojira
I agree with this.

Dudes, this is 35 dollars cheaper than Dr. Mario's first game. Have a heart, eeesh.
12/27/13, 13:11
A little too much for me. Maybe I'd bite at another time of the year but sales are just too good everywhere else. You can get a hell of an experience for $15 these days.
12/27/13, 16:59
Both this an Remix should be priced lower. 15 bucks for such simple games... too much.

Oops, I meant for this thread to be about who is going to play this with me, not those who aren't (already surmised from the Thursday download thread).

@Mr_Mustache

Looking forward to it!

I already bit on NES Remix, another $15 is tough to swallow on a game I basically already have (Dr. Mario RX on WiiWare and Brain Age 2 (has Virus Buster)), so pass for now.

@Jargon

That happens though. Discussion occurs where it occurs. It's still on topic.

I'll jump back in here the day I pick this up, just not now. The thread will surely pickup when the game actually releases.

@Jargon
You made this the official Dr. Luigi discussion thread, so it's going to happen.

That said, I have a feeling I'll probably bite down the road since Trish is interested.

@Mr_Mustache
I also bought E.T. For my 2600 for thirty bucks. Times-a-change.

@Jargon

How soon did you want to play? Nikki and I are going to my parents on New Year's Eve.

@ploot

I'll never forget it; I distinctly remember taking my birthday money, or a $50 gift certificate or something to Toys R Us, looking at their wall, and picking out Super Mario Bros. 3. It was ok to pay $50 for that then (which, by inflation -- and "having money as a kid" -- is about $214 now), but apparently not ok to pay $15 for a new game now. Ah wellllllll.
12/28/13, 02:05
@Mr_Mustache
But back then it'd be the only game you got for quite some time, yes?

Sorry, my friend, but the current state of gaming allows me to buy much meatier games for far less than that. You don't live in the world of that possibility so you don't understand. I get that.
Also, I have Dr. Mario on my Game Boy, on the Wii and Dr. Mario Express on my DS.

Regardless, if Trish wants Dr. Luigi, I'll be getting it.

@ploot

I got hundreds of hours of game time out of Dr. Mario Rx. Getting Miiverse and hopefully easier online matchmaking will be worth $15 to me.

@Mr_Mustache

We'll have to figure it out. Nathalie leaves for Venezuela on New Years day, but I'll be super busy studying for the bar in January and February. We'll find time though.

@Jargon
That's cool. It'll probably be worth it for my wife, too.

Oh, I also have Tetris and Dr. Mario for SNES. Good stuff!
12/28/13, 03:55
@ploot

I dunno. I don't think its a huge deal. One thing that gets me is DLC though. I got Warriors Orochi, and there are TWO pages of DLC on the eShop. "Wow, thats great!," except to get everything, I'm going to spend an additional S-Load of money ON TOP OF the actual game. Whaaaat?

Back then, I'm not sure how my NES stuff went. Birthday in September, so I probably would've got more games at Christmas. I understand your point though. I wrote in the Notes part of the instructions that I beat Super Mario Bros. 3 in 3 days. Thats when I kind've realized (for about a second) that "huh, maybe games don't last that long.." I wrote my gramma a letter telling her, too. Kids are hilarious.

@Jargon

Its cool. No worries.
