Episode 55 is a special episode indeed, and not just for repeating numbers...

DrFinkelstein and Ninsage sit down with Negative World's own TriforceBun (Matthew Taranto) in an extended interview.

For the first half, the trio discusses Matthew's webcomic, Brawl In The Family... which as of this podcast publishing contains 525 comics! The second half of the show is an in-depth look at the heart and soul of Matthew's new game, Tadpole Treble. He just launched a Kickstarter and so far it's going strong. Will you support Matthew and Tadpole Treble? You can do so at the Tadpole Treble Kickstarter Page. Listen to find out what makes this music-rhythm game unique and why it isn't quite a prequel to Blaster Master... despite the hopes and dreams of Ninsage.

A big thanks to Negative World's creator, Zero for the theme music. This episode lacks interlude music, but the special inclusion you hear at the start is actually a piece of Matthew's The History of Nintendo, a special animated webcomic he did for the 400th comic milestone.

Fink and NinSage (Stephen and Joe), thanks so much for having me on this edition of the NW podcast! It was an honor and a privilege sirs, and I hope I didn't jabber on about BitF too much.

One question, can we make this thread a 99 thread so it's visible to the public? I'd like to link it to some of my readers who (for some crazy reason) aren't NW members already.

What the hell... it's supposed to be. Dammit, I must've not set it to podcast. My bad! I was so happy to have it done and completed that I didn't realize it last night. Good catch sir!

Another great podcast.

The trailer for Tadpole Treble gave me the kind of happy vibes I get from Nintendo games which I barely ever get outside of Nintendo games. A good sign.

@Pokefreak911

Glad you liked the show! Joe and I were rather gracious to have the long chat with Matthew.

What's great, and I hope people realize this, is that the Volume 1 of Brawl In The Family is something that is in some of the reward tiers of Tadpole Treble. So you can both support the game greater and get that book as long as you do it through the kickstarter. Ingenious way to kill two birds with one stone.

Something's up with this episode in the iTunes feed. I have this episode downloaded, and it displays episode 55 Tadpole in the Family, but when I listen to it, I'm actually hearing episode 54 Wind Woken.

The link at the very top of this thread does play the correct episode though. So I wonder why the wrong episode is on my iTunes?

@roykoopa64

DOH! The link was wrong in ONE spot but correct everywhere else. The iTunes took the wrong file.

Refresh now if possible. I'm sorry Eric, and all enhanced listeners.

Awesome, I got it now, thanks!
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this was for the enhanced version, but you knew that!

@roykoopa64

I checked both versions immediately. I wish I had known sooner. I don't know how many listeners were getting the wrong one from iTunes. I think a majority of listeners use the site but still.

I finished listening. What a treat! I truly enjoyed the interview with Matthew and hearing all about the work that goes into Brawl in the Family, the best web comic out there that any Nintendo fan can truly appreciate. I've read them all (one of my recent favorites actually had the awesome Roy Koopa make an appearance).

And of course, it's very interesting to hear Matthew talk about getting into game development, as challenging as it can be. I liked hearing about how he's trying to create something unique to stand apart from the typical music/ rhythm game genre. I hope Grant was listening when he discussed the possibility of a 3DS version (and why it isn't as straightforward as one would think). Of course, I've already backed his Kickstarter and am looking forward to playing Tadpole Treble on the Wii U!

@roykoopa64

Thanks for the words Eric. I always appreciate hearing what you think about the show. I hope in time others find themselves as bold to discuss!

At this time I'm having trouble with the link, it seems the site is down at the moment.

I hope Grant has given this a listen as well since I know he was curious about the possibility of a 3DS version of Tadpole Treble. Maybe Nintendo will help him make it happen. Who knows...

I've backed it as well, and I'm looking forward to reading the 200 comics found in the hardcover Volume 1 he has in one of those tiers. I nabbed that one up since I wanted that book anyway.

Listening to it this instant... Good stuff about 1 hour in...

What the hell is Keltic?! I'm pretty sure it's a soft C that goes in Celtic, right?

EDIT: I just checked & both are correct. It doesn't have an hard C pronounciation in French, so I guess that's why I don't ever hear the hard C pronounciation. I learned something today. Wouhou!
