Why not sign up for a (free) account?

Just get the daily pass whenever you want to play, it will be cheaper than buying them all.

Edit: the online play is decent, the most fun part of it is Miiverse taunts but you have to give some time for them to be approved by the Miiverse overlords before they are usable in-game.

Daily pass isn't an option unfortunately. I won't have an internet connection up there, so this is a sort of 'load before I leave' situation.

In that case, I would say go with your family's favourite sports. Tennis and bowling are always hits, tennis especially if you have 4 Wii remote pluses. The golf is a personal favourite of mine, but it's not for everyone. Baseball is fun, and I like the additions they made with pitching and fielding using the gamepad. Boxing I don't think is much improved despite the supposed added accuracy of using two Wii remote pluses per boxer. You can probably skip that one.

I'm curious, was there a retail release of the game, over in Australia?

Oh damn, Wii Remote Pluses.

I was actually rather drawn to this version purely for WM+ Tennis. Forgot I don't have that many WM+ enabled controllers though. One attachement with Resort, and the Skyward Sword Wiimote+. I think I got a third WM+ with Red Steel 2, but I lent that to a friend when he borrowed Skyward Sword. Must get that back.

Dad's got his attachment from his copy of resort...that makes 3. Will have to do.

And yeah, I think there was a retail release. Never did look at it too closely.

I think I still have my 48hr (or is it 24hr) pass from the last time they updated the game.

I'm a little annoyed about that. I fired it up for the first time last night just before I went to bed, so I could see what the Aussie pricing structure was for the various games.

The minute I did, my 24 hour pass automatically went active. I would have assumed that I would have been given the chance to activate that if and when I made an attempt to actually play a game.

Bit of a waste.

That sucks. Now I'm hoping I didn't accidently do the same thing.
