@r_hjort Wow, wasn't expecting that. This is probably something that they could change with a patch, though, so hopefully it's only temporary. Having region-locked online is probably easier to set up than worldwide online, so it may have been done to release these two games a little earlier. Unless Nintendo are worried about the language barrier, though it isn't like that doesn't exist even within regions.
There actually aren't that many Nintendo games with regional play, and most of them were the earlier ones. Endless Ocean Blue World is the last one I can think of, and that was over three years ago. It seems a bit odd to me that this one is.
Seems like more squandered potential. There is absolutely no excuse for Bowling and Golf at the bare minimum to have full online play with the rest of the world. The Agassi ad to me is funny in a wholly different way. Dude didn't know who he was playing against and had to use the phone to communicate. That sums up Nintendo online perfectly.
Are we even sure that you can play against friends at all? I seem to recall that being a question. If so, it doesn't really matter to me if I can only play against strangers in the US.
So, how should I create the list for the topic post that shows who has what game? Should I list people's names and which sport(s) they bought, or should I use a header for each sport and place people's names under them of who has it? Should I also list people's NNIDs here, or direct people to the NNID thread?
Now that I'm getting up there in rank in Tennis, I'm getting more and more frustrated with the random lag spikes. They completely ruin the competitive aspect of the game since you have to resort to swinging early and praying you magically timed the lag enough so you'll hit it.
Yeah, the lag sucks, but otherwise it's fun. I might get bowling for now, and wait to see if tennis gets any better.
I'm liking the Miiverse trash talking! lol. I haven't made my own messages yet but I love telling people they got SERVED. Haha. The presentation is quite nice in Wii Sports Club, I'm in love with the music
Ya, the lag is annoying but I'm hoping that its due to a few factors.
- Everyone is playing this right now since it just came out - Everyone playing obviously can play online - More changes to the software or server side needed
I'm hopeful! If you go to the options screen of the game you'll see a version number in the lower right corner. I'm hoping they roll out patches to make the online experience even better!
With the last update, there should have been a question when booting it up asking you if you wanted to turn on SpotPass to automatically download certain software. This would apply to Wii Sports Club I imagine.
