Wii Fit U, where fitness is fUn. No that's not their actual slogan, nor would it ever be a contestant for one, but from my own personal experience, Wii Fit has always been a fun and engaging experience. Where the series lacked in the past, challenge of keeping up your daily life with the game life, lack of variety over a long term, and ability to connect with friends,.... the new version for Wii U seems to be correcting all of this. Join the Negative World Wii Fit U Community! Get fit with www.negativeworld.org!! CLICK HERE FOR CODE Fun Fact: There's three tiers to how you can purchase this game. You can either... A.) Demo the game Nov. 1st and buy a Fit Meter to secure the game for free. The Fit Meter costs $20. B.) You can buy a Fit Meter and a disc copy of the game for $50. I believe that's on December 13th. C.) You can buy the disc game, Fit Meter, and the Balance Board for $90 dollars, also December 13th. For more information, check out Nintendo's webpage for Wii Fit U. @JargonWell, you can unlock higher difficulties/number of reps as you play. So like, after the 6 push-up/planks, you get a set of 10, then a set of 20. So there's some level of customization, although not a fully user-controlled one, which would be cool. You can always set your own routine, though, if you want to do more (so like, a set of 20 then a set of 10 right after). It's not quite the same, but kind of similar. I really like the routine setup since it limits downtime, but I wish you could unlock stuff through it. Very weird that you have to manually pick the single exercise to unlock the later ones instead of just by playing them through My Routine. |

I think you get to play it as many "times" as you want, but you only have 31 days after downloading it to play it. So if you only play it once in that window, too bad.
I've been keeping up with this for at least half an hour every day, and I'm enjoying it. I've settled into a steady routine that I've saved that goes throug push-ups, a bunch of aerobics, and mixes in some balance games for fun.
I like the yoga ones too, but they're among my least played now since 1) there don't seem to be any new ones from the first two Wii Fits, and 2) there's too much downtime and not enough yoga-ing. I wish there was a way to string a bunch together, one after the other, without any button presses or anything. Like, you'd go from Tree right into Downward-Facing Dog, etc.
I tried the scuba one for the first time today. I liked it! Pretty serene, all in all, and the GamePad "window" effect is really neat.
I always enjoy the bicycle one too. Exploring Wuhu Island is entertaining for me.
I'm not a fan of Puzzle Squash, though--I feel like the controls are way more limited than something like WSR's Table Tennis. I wish I had full control over my racket. |
