I've read that Pinsir has a Mega Evolution. While cool, and I like the idea of Mega Evolutions, it's also a little disappointing that all these old Pokemon are getting Mega Evolutions when some of them, like Pinsir, have been in need of proper, permanent evolutions.

One big compliment I can pay this game is that I think about it all day when I'm at work, and want to get back to it, that's addiction!

@WindWaker99 I haven't seen them yet, but I'll try to remember to catch one for you when I encounter them :)

If I was Fink, I would be directing you to NW Podcast Ep. 52

It appears you have a strong opinion about the Mega Evolutions in the newest Pokemon game, Pokemon X & Y. It is highly recommended that you take a listen to the Negative World Podcast 052 - From North America to South Australia for a rousing conversation on the subject. This conversation occurs at around one hour and twenty-six minutes into the podcast. Use the Enhanced version for a quick chapter link. Who knows, either you might be further enlightened or your opinion will be strengthened. Perhaps even you'll discover new ideas to share here on the forums in this thread. Whichever route you take, I do hope you will find it to be entertaining and worth your precious time.

~Sincerely, Dr. Finkelstein (NW Podcaster and Staff)

I never actually responded to your post. I agree. I find it kinda weird this whole Mega Evolution thing as many of these pokemon deserve flat out real evos... but yet they did this primarily to avoid ballooning the roster further... or so it seems to me. I wonder how this idea came up in the first place.

I wish Pokemans didn't evolve at all because all-to-often they go from being cute little friends to hideous wer-creatures that stand on their hind legs and look like total freakshows.

It seems that the progression is really linear so far, to the point where you can't divulge from the main path at all without some NPC suggesting you go visit such-and-such first.
You're looking for "deviate". To divulge is to reveal information to someone.

@Guillaume

He probably meant diverge. Auto-correct issue, perhaps.

Got this for my roadtrip, only got about 4 hours of playtime :|. Spent most of that trying to catch Riolu. Saw it twice, used my weakest Pokemon + tackle and got about 40% HP in the first hit. Repeat that same move, ideally get him down to 20% for easy capture, and both times I land a crit and kill it. Wouldn't be so bad, but in about 1 hour of hunting I only found those two...

The EXP Share thing is incredible. I really hate having to swap out Pokemon all the time just to level.
10/15/13, 19:10
Is the total # of exp earned the same whether you use exp share or not?
10/15/13, 19:24
@anon_mastermind
I'm pretty sure it is. Half the exp goes to the active 'mons and the other half gets divvied up between the lazy ones.
10/15/13, 19:27
@ploot
Alright, makes sense. Do you still have the same friend code as before? I never see you online.
10/15/13, 19:40
@TriforceBun

Aren't all Pokémon games fairly linear, though?
10/15/13, 19:46
@Guillaume

Whoops! Yeah, I meant "diverge" and wasn't playing close enough attention.

@GameDadGrant

For the most part, although I was hoping that'd be one of the things tweaked in this one. Nothing huge, but a little more exploration would've been nice to up the customizability of the game.

@TriforceBun

I think it's neat to see the perspective of someone who hasn't played one of the main Pokemon games since Gold and Silver. The way in which your expectations and desires for the series differ from mine have made me more aware of the things I put up with in Pokémon games because they've always been like that (such as the linearity and boring dialogue). It's opened my eyes to the flaws I've come to accept over the years.
10/15/13, 22:05
@anon_mastermind
My friend code remains the same. I just don't hop online too much. When I finish the main quest that'll probably change.
I DO go on line once in a while though.

@TriforceBun
The dialogue in Pokemon games has always been horrendously boring. So much so that when a funny/witty line DOES show up I am more amazed than humoured.
