@Anand

Well good, because I had fits getting lost.

Did anyone else get a Castlevania 2 vibe from Shantae? "What a horrible night to have a curse..."

Just a few days left in September! How are the rest of y'all doing with Shantae and X?

I need to finish X. I also need to set up a submission thread for October. I'll do I then I get home.

I played some X3 last night! Probably finish it up tonight.

I think I essentially just gave up on Shantae, for now at least. It's just not even in the same league as the DSiWare game.

Shantae is terrible. It's a slower, more drawn out and boring Zelda II and I LOVED Zelda II but I cannot stand this.

I must finish it though. I refuse to play Risky's Revenge till I find out why she wants Revenge!

@Pokefreak911

Kind of off-topic, buy why do you dig Adventure of Link? Just curious.

I finished all three SNES X games this month! Ranking them is a lot tougher than I remember. They're way more similar than I used to think. I'm tempted to say they're even more cookie-cutter similar than the NES games were, but I'd hate to have to bite my tongue when I marathon MM1-5 before playing the GB games...

In general, I think X had the best weapons and music, X2 had the best bosses and upgrade "puzzles," and X3 had the best extras, armors, and stage designs. But they're all so close in every way. Gun to my head, I say X > X3 > X2. And X mostly just takes the top spot because it was the original.

@GameDadGrant
It's fun. I genuinely enjoy playing it. And when I first finished it I played it again immediately.

Man, you guys are being pretty harsh on ol' Shantae. The GBC game definitely has its flaws and is nowhere near as good as Risky's Revenge, but I still like it. The dungeons, in particular, are awesome. And the art and music are nice, too. Most of the problems come from the obtuse overworld progression and the combat.

I just beat the third dungeon. I'll finish it. And probably use a walkthrough to find the way to the fourth.

As horrible as it sounds, Shantae games are probably more fun when you use a walkthrough to find the next dungeon.

@ludist210
Of course! Castlevania, Zelda, Metroid... All of that good stuff.

I'm Awesome, I beat Mega Man X. (C'mon, SMS, update the lists, its almost Octoberrrr!)
Only died twice in Storm Eagle's stage (forgot where the Helmet Upgrade was, chose poorly....), and 3 times on Sigma. I wanted a No Death Run so baaad.

@Mop it up

You can beat it in under 3 hours. Really.

So I'm the only one that's finished both (and an extra) so far?
