X2 complete. I totally forgot you don't get to fight Zero if you get all his parts...damn it, that's the best part of the game! And maybe the Sigma stages are disappointing in every game, because these ones were just as bad as those in the first game. In fact, they were eerily similar in style, layout, and obstacles. The bosses were a bit better, but not much.
I'd say the original edges X2 a bit, but the difference is almost nil. I guess that's a knock on X2 because it seems very content with being basically the same thing all over again, even by Mega Man standards.
I suppose I'll hit X3 at some point this month. It always was my favorite, and the one I played the most. Unfortunately the Gamecube Collection has the PlayStation version of X3, which had a (poorly) arranged soundtrack instead of the punchier SNES sound samples, and a very weird SFX/BGM balance where all the sound effects are super loud. |
