Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate coming to PS3 and XBOX360 10/31/13

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate is coming to PS3 and XBOX 360 on Octoboer 31st, 2013. No mention of a Wii U version. I haven't bought it yet, so I guess I'l wait and see how this version turns out before taking the plunge.

IGN said:
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate, which originally came out on Nintendo 3DS earlier this year, is being re-released in HD on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The game's publisher Konami announced the news on the game's official Facebook page. The game is a direct sequel to Lords of Shadow, which came out on current-gen consoles in 2010 and was something of a reboot for the long-running gothic adventure series. The HD version will be coming to PSN and Xbox Live Arcade, rather appropriately, on October 31st.

Does this mean we could see the game coming to other platforms in the future? When asked about the possibility of a PC version, the producer of the franchise, Dave Cox, said on Twitter, "No announcement today but we are seriously looking into it." But he seemed less optimistic about a possible Vita version, adding "we have no plans for a Vita version."

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is expected for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in November. IGN will be seeing more of the game at Gamescom later this week.

It's fun to know that despite having no time to devote to a Wii U version of Lords of Shadow 2, that they somehow find the time to port over one of the worst received Castlevania games in recent years.

I only regret 2 gaming purchases that I've made in the last 10 years or so, and this is one of them. Both are on the 3DS, ironically enough. Alas.

What's the other one?

Pretty much this. Thanks for not much lately, Konami...

I thought this was an okay game, should look great in HD.

Small edit - It's not Nintendo news unless a Wii U version is announced.

Uhh..what's with this trend of 3DS games coming out for home consoles afterwards? Kind of annoying.

I was so enamored with Lego City Undercover that I bought The Chase Begins sight unseen. It's not a bad game, but playing it side by side with Undercover is almost completely pointless, it's such a lesser game.

I liked The Chase Begins as well! Maybe I have low standards?

Cool news for the two people out there that still don't have a 3DS at this point. This is a fun game, and I endorse the notion that more people will be able to play this.

Pretty awesome it's releasing on Halloween, too.

Wii U? Ain't nobody got time for that!

I'm assuming you didn't play Undercover since you don't have a Wii U. It was a decent game, but I think I would've also liked it much more if I didn't just play a superior version of pretty much the same thing.

Yeah I realize that this game fell into the PSP pit (same as console version but with crappier graphics and controls), but I'm a sucker for handheld games, and an open-world-ish game on a handheld is a beautiful thing. So I realize the Wii U version is technically much better, but I'm not 100% convinced I would have not liked the 3DS version based on that. Once you get over it looking not-so-amazing and not having VA, it's a solid game!

I don't think Chase Begins is a bad game in a vacuum, but it's completely pointless to play it if you have access to a 3DS and a Wii U. Chase Begins does absolutely nothing better, or even as good as, Undercover.

Cept go on the train with you.

Doesn't come to brother system with exact same features?

Go fuck a dick Konami and any other third piece of shit parties. Your conspiracy is showing.

Think about the install base of Wii U vs. the PS360, they're just trying to maximize profits. I agree it's foolish though, map on the 2nd screen would be so cool on Wii U, and Castlevania fans are Nintendo fans a lot of the time, the GBA/DS heritage is strong!

Third parties always have time to bring their Nintendo games to PS3/60, but never the other way around. It's really annoying.

I would totally just buy a PS3 but I already plan to buy an HD system (Wii U) and there is no excuse why so many third party games couldn't be on that platform. So why should I have to shell out hundreds of dollars and clutter up my entertainment center even more just because third parties are [whatever the explanation is for them ignoring a major video game company's platforms].

@NinSage

Isn't the "excuse" or "reason" because third party games don't sell well on Nintendo platforms?

Until Wii U sales improve I will not be surprised or angry if third party games come out on all consoles but Wii U. If by this time next year though it hasn't changed...well...
