I'm no Miiverse artist myself, but I imagine some of you guys could do amazing things with this app.

If you did, share some of your work here with the browser version of Miiverse!

I got it but I'm not really an experienced drawer or anything. Still, at 4$, it was hard to pass up on it as I've used Miiverse a lot to draw stuff. The tools offered in Art Academy will need some messing around with to learn how they work though.

I want to get it, but I'm waiting on my debit card to be mailed to me (don't want to by an e-shop card).

I have no artistic talent, so that is never happening... but I'm sure going to enjoy all of the things people do on Miiverse with it.

@Hinph

Yup...

Hah, see... that's awesome!

The drawings are limited to the Art Academy community though? That's a shame. There should be full Miiverse integration. Hopefully eventually.

@Hinph

Yeah that's unfortunate. Miiverse is supposed to get an upgrade with more drawing tools though I doubt we'll see this kind of bump in quality.

I have a sketching app on my tablet called "Sketch n Draw Pad HD" (it's free btw). You would be extremely surprised at what you can create if you give it time and have a little imagination. I'm hoping this app is just like that.

I really need to pick this up today.

@VofEscaflowne

wow. Those are absolutely stunning pieces of work. I'm literally staring at the Mario Galaxy 2 picture while typing this. 5/5

Looks amazing, will definitely get when I get a Wii U.

My first drawing with this I don't know if it's because I used pastels but it was pretty hard to draw with at times. Also ran into a few issues where if I tried to use a certain tool, the background would start blending into my picture and ruin spots so I decided to stop there and not try to add more details to it. Still, I like it and think it looks good. Will have to practice more with this!

I just posted my first too. Something simple. Nice job Fabien!

@VofEscaflowne

Is this your first time drawing/painting on an application like this?

@Jargon

It's a simple design, yet I'm still analyzing how you made it. Was you just getting used to the software when you made this?

@shinriley

Yup, it is.

@VofEscaflowne

You did good on your first time. Can't wait to see more.

Does anyone have any tips for drawing with it? I've always enjoyed drawing but never really took it seriously and stopped for years. Funny to say but Miiverse sort of rekindled my interest in it. But with Art Academy, I don't know what the advantages are of using certain pencils or how I should be using the tools. Hopefully the "Lessons" section goes up soon. Maybe that would be helpful in my case.

Some very nice pieces you've found!

I'd love to try my hand at something that polished but I just don't think I have the patience. My coloring can be okay at times but I still don't feel comfortable with it, especially with how the tools are handled in AAS.

But at the very least they have an insanely good feel with all tools and it's pretty flippin' accurate. It's actually a legitimately good way to make some very nice art.

I'm thinking of doing some of my better work on here. The instant Miiverse audience is really cool. They are also more likely to understand my art more than others considering I'm heavily inspired by games.

Anyways, I love this game. Some of the best 4 dollars I've ever spent. This game also just couldn't come at a more perfect time for me.

Here's my latest.
