Wow it rains really often in Hyrule. But mostly only when there is a wall or cliff I need to climb. It’s rather uncanny.

@GameDadGrant

That's how they keep everything so lush and green.

Every time I’m climbing a tower, I always think; “Wow. I wish I had a Hookshot.”
01/16/23, 00:39
Darn tootin' right.

Hm, the game loop is starting to wear a little thin lately. I'm not stumbling across as many Shrines anymore. And I'm finding that having a horse isn't all that helpful...you can't scale a cliff (or tower) with one, let alone glide down from a high peak. I know I've barely scratched the surface of this game (only woken two Divine Beasts) but this is starting to get a little old. I'll keep pushing through, though.

Getting really tired of all this rain. And c'mon, wearing just *ONE* piece of metal is going to cause me to get struck by lightning? Like, 90% of the time? C'mon, now. That's just getting in the way of me having fun with the game. That in particular is starting to get really annoying.

AND WHAT IS UP WITH THOSE LONG DRAGONS IN THE SKY.

It is true that i found horses only good for running past Guardians and exploring the general parts of the maps. There are a few special horses you can find though.

"AND WHAT IS UP WITH THOSE LONG DRAGONS IN THE SKY"

shoot them and watch carefully where you hit.

There's a lot more to find then shrines. Did you reach the upper-right/lower-right parts of the map yet? Fun stuff happens there.

Theres a pice of equipment you get that makes you immune to lightning. You get it in Gerudo town. By doing chores for people.

Don't do that to yourself! The beauty of Breath of the Wild is that you don't have to do anything. If you're ready for the game to be done, head to Hyrule Castle and end it.

There is also some item that detects when shrines are near. I actually turned it off until I was down to the last 10 or so shrines I was having trouble finding because I wanted to explore and find them on my own, but if you want to find shrines it's probably pretty helpful!

@Zero

I don't think that find hidden shrines tho.

@GameDadGrant

There's a suit of armor that helps with lightning, and one of the divine beast threads can help too.

I personally love the openness and aimlessness of Breath of the Wild, but I feel like there's a lot of real estate between an Ubisoft style, "barf all the icons on a map" style UI and something that would guide you to shit like armor that lets you climb more efficiently. The negaoryx clip is real.

@Secret_Tunnel

Agreed. I didn't even do the Rito stuff the first time I played it. Just went to the castle when the time felt right (knowing I would play it again another time/year, and would do Rito then).
01/21/23, 03:52
@Kal-El814 I'm pretty sure it still points you to the general area? It doesn't tell you exactly where the shrine is.
01/21/23, 03:53
@Zero

Depends. Shrines you have to *make* appear via Kass riddles etc, simply don't register until you trigger them.
01/21/23, 04:40
Eventually you can set the senser to find other things as long as you have a picture of that thing.

Hmm, okay. Maybe I'll try that next time. And no, haven't gotten to those edges of the map you referenced. Yet.

Eh, it's not a HUGE deal. And I mean, there is a LOT to explore here so I want to see as much as I can. So maybe I'll just wander around for a bit before really progressing the main story. (though I did just beat the flying Divine Beast last night, haha)

Oh yeah, I have the Shrine Detector thingy on. Problem is, I usually see the Shrine before the detector detects it, haha. Oh well.

Good to know about the lightning armor. Um...what's this "negaoryx clip" you speak of?
01/24/23, 01:38
Huh. Lionels (sp?) apparently don’t attack you on sight. They won’t even approach Link if no weapons are drawn.
01/29/23, 19:42
@GameDadGrant

They won't attack unless the aforementioned happens or you get to close. Theres a guy that hangs around different villages at night and lets you buy monster disguises

I think it's spelled "Lynel(s)"

So I came across one of those huge, flying, serpent-dragon things again. I was at a high vantage point, so I swooped on down to it, then let go of the glider. My intention was to land on its back and…I dunno what my plan was after that, to be honest. LOL.

But as soon as I “landed” on it? Link was immediately thrust back and shocked with electricity! The dragon didn’t even seem to be aware of me, and just casually kept flying away while lightning balls appeared and started making their way towards me. I barely got away in time, and when I had finally collected myself for another run at it, it had disappeared. Bah.

Guess next time I’ll just try shooting it like I was advised before…!

I think you are correct! Thanks!

@GameDadGrant

I tried that once...

...once.

@GameDadGrant

You can also get some more info on the dragons if you travel to Mount Lanayru on the eastern side of the map.
