Don't get me wrong I love Penny as a character, I just find her very tough to use!

@PogueSquadron There is a local versus mode for up to 4 players which unlocks after you complete all of the story stuff... for some reason. You also unlock the weekly challenge mode with online leaderboards at that point as well. Because those are both totally things that should be hidden behind finishing a story mode.

Mind you it's pretty easy to burn through the story mode, BUT STILL.

@Zero
Yeah, I like to alternate between modes so I didn’t like having to beat the game to unlock more stuff. I feel “rushed” through the main 1p mode as a result.

I don't really mind since to me the main draw of story mode in a WarioWare game is going for personal high scores, which you can't even really do the first time through, so I do like to get through everything at least once early on so I can start going for high scores.

But it's still just weird to hide a multiplayer mode and a weekly challenge mode behind finishing a single player mode. Weird decision.

Yeah, I felt rushed through the story mode too! I also wish it didn't stop you at 15 points your first time through.

Have you guys tried any of the "Game" missions? They're interesting! You're asked to complete a microgame in a weird way that you wouldn't otherwise think of.

@Secret_Tunnel

I haven't played this yet, but the guys talked about that on the podcast episode we were recording last night. It sounded interesting. Seemed like some of them require to use a specific character, like one where you have to unfog glasses and you do it specifically by cooling the food with the character who has a water jetpack.

@Guillaume They're all open to every character though, so I HOPE that means they are all solvable by every character. With the fog one, most of the characters can just push the food out of the way.

Right, every microgame is clearable with every character, but there are special achievements under the Mission category that will ask you to complete a microgame in a certain way, usually with a certain character. One of them is "complete the foggy glasses game by cooling down the food," and the only way to do that is with Penny. That was a really cool one, I'd have never guessed you can do that!

@Zero

THAT'S what you're supposed to do!? No wonder I keep losing that microgame--I keep attacking the steam/glasses and wondering why it's not working!

@TriforceBun It took me awhile to figure it out too! This game is confusing at times!

But fun!

Hey, someone named Peter passed my score for the first Wario Cup at the last second! Octorockin, is that you? And I fell from the Top 3% to the Top 5% too! Apparently all the WarioWare masters play on Monday night.

Wait, NOW I see why Peter came out of nowhere. Your leaderboards only update when you submit a new high score! I've been sitting pretty all week thinking that I'm in 1st place with my 7000 or so points, but anyone could have taken the top spot and I wouldn't even know...

This week's Wario Cup is cool: 15 puzzle challenges with long time limits, no base multipliers, fastest time wins. And it's tough! The pipe rotating and Big Brain Academy microgames always trip me up. I got my gold trophy, but I'm still only in the B tier!
09/22/21, 21:15
I only tried it a few times, the big brain one gets me as well as the one where the plates switch, it happens so fast sometimes and you're not just responsible for one object, you have to know where any of them end up! It's a cool challenge though!
09/22/21, 23:38
I like this week's challenge! Although I didn't like that even after (eventually) getting a Gold, I still got a B. Guess there are a lot of people who did well this week...!

@Zero
For this one, I try to keep my eye on two objects (the first two). It sounds kind of crazy, not sure how to describe it. Then if they ask me to find the third thing, I know where it is via process of elimination.

That... actually makes a lot of sense, lol. Much smarter than trying to keep track of 3.
09/23/21, 00:51
@TriforceBun

That's exactly how I do it! It's surprising, even after you think you've consciously lost the objects, it turns out that a lot of the time your brain was busy tracking them anyway.

I'm curious about where all the geniuses who are doing so well this week came from!
09/23/21, 01:17
Oh geez, this week's challenge is pretty ridiculous, lol. I suck so bad at it.
10/05/21, 23:20
Wow, you're right! It's wacky!

I've been really impressed with all these challenges so far, every one has really had its own identity that puts a unique spin on the game.
10/06/21, 06:36
Yeah I was really worried that it would be like "and here is yet another mix of the mini-games you have played already played a bunch of in the same way that you have played them" but they're really making it feel like its own thing. Definitely nothing like this week's challenge in the main game.
10/06/21, 08:40
Hmm, maybe I spoke too soon, this week's challenge is just "play games as 18-Volt" and last week's was a bit uninspired too. Hopefully they haven't already run out of ideas!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing! Especially with last week's.
