@Mop it up
Is that true? (Was that the first post this year??)

I thought that there was some League Mode for Turf War, once you reached a certain level. Shamefully, I've only played casual, solo Turf War. Actually, I HAVE played against a few of you guys. No party stuff, though.

I love that they're making Private Splatfest available, with the shifty stages. I hope that they do the same with ARMS Party Crash, with lots of setup options.

ARMS!

So is Spla3n on Switch or its successor?

@Anand

@Anand League is just for the four ranked modes and doesn't include Turf, sadly.
It's a shame the Shifty Stations won't be available in regular Turf, most of them are easily the best stages in the game. I was at least hoping they'd bump it up to three stages per rotation since there are certainly enough in the game now to support that.

@DrFinkelstein I'm curious, what would you like to see done with a Splatoon 3 which can't be added into Splatoon 2?

No friggin' clue. But I'm sure they can come up with something. I just don't want to wait until the next console (which I expect to be wayyy down the line) before we see more content.

Word on the street is that Mop it up won a 10x battle for Team Mushroom.

Popped this in to play since it's been forever since I last played. Kept getting connection issues. Still have to think it's because I game in my basement.

Played through the campaign though and will admit that for a game that is primarily about splatting ink all over the place in multiplayer, the singe player has some inventive levels and bosses.

@Brick

The internet at my new place is pretty bad, so I assumed that playing Switch games online would just be impossible, but I've gotten lucky and had a pretty good time with Splatoon and Smash whenever I've tried it!

As much as I enjoy Splatoon's movement and multiplayer gameplay, the single player's long stages didn't really click with me. But the Octo Expansion, oh man, that's where it's at! Little mini-challenges based around one mechanic or weapon. Some people feel the opposite way, but to me, this was the real Splatoon multiplayer! Storywise too, it had some really interesting stuff going on, and I loved the presentation.

Every time I hop online for a Splatfest, I'm like, "Man, this is great! Why don't I do this more often??"

And then I don't play again until the next Splatfest.

I'm mostly just reminded of how much I suck at the game. Though I did have a random match last time where I got like 4 or 5 kills and only died 1 or 2 times. That's a respectable K/D ratio!

I was looking at the list of Splatfests out of curiosity, and out of the 31 held, I guessed the winning team 27 out of 31 times. That makes for an 87% win rate, so clearly I am the difference-maker here.

@Anand

You should play more often!! I'll play some rounds with you!

@Zero

Sure is!

@DrFinkelstein
I will. Probably! Speaking of which, Splatoon 3 has gotta be around the corner, right?

@Mop it up

I feel like I almost always ended up siding with Pearl? And winning? I definitely didn't do all 31 of them though!

@Anand

No idea what they're thinking on that one. Splatoon 2 still has such life in its base. I hope they don't treat it like Mario Kart 8 and just milk it for a long long time. Now that the bulk of Animal Crossing is done, they could be back on a Splatoon 3. There was that Welcome to 2020 image they had which had some hidden messaging in it. I hope that was a clue. I hope Splatoon 3 is close.

Why would Splatoon 3 be right around the corner?! I kind of see it like a Mario Kart / Smash / etc. type situation where they will only do 1 per console.
01/25/21, 18:42
Yeah, I'm surprised at how many people are expecting a Splatoon 3 soon!
01/25/21, 19:27
Because they stopped the Splatfests.

Temporarily.

Because the pandemic delayed SplaThreen!
