Most Walmart stores appear to be clearancing out Octopath Traveler for $10.

@Mop it up

Thanks,

Going to give it a try now. Went to the only Walmart in my area that showed stock and couldn’t find it. Went to the one a mile from my house later last week and they had 4 or 5 that were still marked at full price, but they rang up properly.

Seems I missed out on Xenoblade Chronicles for $10. Apparently someone bought all 4 copies. Oh well, I don’t know it I even have time for Octopath, but I’ll give it a shot. Truly appreciate the heads up.

Ratchet and Clank (PS4) is now free to own if you download it by March 31st

What does free to own mean in this case though? Does this game have a bunch of microtransactions or something?!
03/02/21, 15:51
It just means it's free, as far as I know.

Not sure what prompted this move, but it's not unheard of on the PC side, where gog.com or Uplay regularly give away games (and the Epic Game Store gives one away every week).

You can redeem this R&C as long as you have a PSN account. I don't even have a PS4 and I claimed it, just in case.

The PlayStation Plus games as of late have become by far the best deal in gaming. This month alone they have given away Ratchet and Clank, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Remnant From the Ashes. Got Control Ultimate Edition last month and Greedfall.

Just those alone justify the monthly cost for the year.

The Witness might be in my Top 5 games ever. It's that good! And now it's free!
03/26/21, 20:07
RE: the link @Guillaume just posted, I highly recommend The Witness especially if you like puzzle games. It's my personal game of the last generation.

Astro Bot is excellent as well, if you happen to have PSVR. As my introduction to VR, it made a similar impression on me as Mario 64 did for 3D movement back in the day.

@Guillaume
Insane. With this and the PSPlus Collection, I don't really understand Sony's long-term plan here. I was already skittish about buying PlayStation games as-is!

Actually, this new giveaway doesn't even require PS+. And the licenses are permanent. So that's even crazier. But I still don't get Sony's motive. Brand retention? These giveaways did play a significant role in my decision to get a PS5 over a Sexbox.

Some good freebies for PC games on Amazon Gaming right now. I believe it's free for Prime users, and you connect it to a Twitch account (which I think was formerly called Twitch Gaming?)

Check the deal out here.

Includes:

Yoku's Island Express
A Blind Legend (I'm interested in this. It's a completely audio driven exprience that both blind and sighted players can experience. Sighted players can experience the game as a blind person would. The game apparently uses 3D audio, though I'm not sure I have anything that can take advantage of this).
The Blind Prophet
Beholder
Healer's Quest
Edgar - Bokbok in Boulzac
Figment
Iris and the Giant
Do Not Feed the Monkeys

DekuDeals shows a ton of major eShop sales as well. Lots of opportunity to get that game you've been waiting on folks!
11/23/21, 16:19
They're all up to $39.99 (except Fire Emblem, which is $35) now. Still decent deals for Nintendo stuff, but not quite $26.99!

I got Paper Mario and was sitting on Astral Chain thinking on it but I guess I'm too late there.

I've had to come to the unfortunate conclusion that my favorite game is ...buying more games. And with the WiiU/3DS eShop news, I had to dust off my many 3DSes, figure out which system had an active account on it, and start buying! Sadly, my purchases were spread out over 2 separate systems, one New 3DS, one 3DS XL. I will likely duplicate purchases so that I have access to some games on both. I have an illness.

All that said, the 3DS eShop has some noteworthy sales.

@Brandon
It's the ultimate metagame! But, dude, have you seen the rising value of old games these days? Our obsessive compulsions have turned into nest eggs!

Not digital stuff, though. But I'll top up on some Phoenix Wright games, too. I bought a ton during that Atlus sale. I wonder if even Nintendo will join this new fire sale trend before the close of their store!

Probably not.
