Anyone else enjoying this? According to my friends list, a lot of you are!

First off... it's Tetris, so I mean, it's got that going for it. But who knew it could be so much fun to compete against 98 other people while playing Tetris?

It's intense!

I'm not sure how much strategy there is to it. The game's lack of... any information whatsoever makes it hard to decipher exactly what the rules are. Looking forward to other people figuring it out and posting about it.

The Pro Controller's broken d-pad puts you at an automatic disadvantage, though, since you're forced to disable hard drop. I bet this game would be a ton of fun with the NES Controller, but I don't think there's any way to target people with it!

Oh yeah, that Tetris tournament starts today, doesn't it? Anyone here going to try it? I don't think I will, I figure there will be at least 999 no-lifers who play all 48 hours of it and win simply from the law of averages, hee hee.

I'll give it a try just for fun. So far, I've only managed top 10 a few times, with a 2nd place as my best. I also haven't really had time to play these last 2 weeks, so who knows, maybe going in fresh will help :)

Wow, this game's been really fleshed out since February! And I still haven't gotten my Maximus yet!

@Secret_Tunnel
And now you never will! The quality of play has freakin' skyrocketed. I've gone from easy Top 5s at launch to Hard-Won Top 50s!

The updates are cool, though. They have 8-player local with CPUs filling in the rest!

I wish that they could add a Grandmaster mode. Along with a crazy, power-uppy mode.

And then move onto some other puzzle classics, like Panel de Pon!

Has anyone revisited this over the past several months?

I've logged something like 20 hours into this game and STILL have yet to win a match. I've gotten in 2nd a couple times. I USUALLY lose somewhere around the 5-15 mark, at least if I'm doing well. Other times I can't seem to break 40.

I'm just not sure what else I could be doing. Generally, I do stick to Random and try to target people if I think they might be an easy KO. More often than not though, people just find me an appealing target and gang up on me. Sometimes, I'm able to fend off attackers, but I feel like once we hit around the 20 remaining mark, people just have a tendency to gang up on me. There's really just no way around it, it feels like. I've tried aiming for people with lots of KOs, but it's like Mario Kart - once you have a ton of KOs, you instantly become a target. How do you find the balance between getting KOs, but not standing out in the crowd?? I'd take any advice!

I will also say - I'm really disappointed with how this game has handled DLC and themes. When they announced themes, I was SO excited. I'm still excited when the events roll around. I love my Ring Fit Adventure theme, despite me not owning the game. But apparently, there's no way to unlock certain event themes? I didn't even realize there was a Pokemon Sword/Shield theme, and now I can't buy it on the shop. AND each theme is like 15 tickets. You can only get FOUR tickets per day, and that's assuming you play every day and are good at the game. I haven't had difficulty getting these tickets, but come on. You can't even get more tickets unless you buy the $10 DLC! They should absolutely have more of an avenue to get these themes, whether it's with in game or real life currency. There are some fun themes on there, but sadly it'll take months to unlock them all.

@PogueSquadron

That's how they get ya.

But it's like...they can't get me, because even WITH the $10 DLC, all that does is speed up your ticket acquisition. And to get THOSE tickets, you have to usually clear lines against the CPU or in Marathon. So at the end of the day, it's pretty unlikely that I'd even do that. Honestly they should just give you tickets as you acrue XP. It's a pretty lame system.

(Is there ANY way to get the Pokemon theme if I didn't participate in the event? Amanda also missed out on the Ring Fit theme, so it looks like she can't get that one either.)

@PogueSquadron
I believe that you can get the Premium Themes with tickets, eventually?

But I'm still playing a couple of rounds a day. Even though I have all of the themes. I don't even want to think about whether meaningless ticket accrual is influencing that. But it probably is. I also log into Kirby Clash to get apples every day, even though I've only played, like, four times. And then there's Animal Crossing, the ultimate grind...

If I play every day I should get a theme every several days I think. I just wish I could speed things up.

I finally did this today. Might be time to take a break for a while...

@PogueSquadron
Congrats! It always take, like, 30 seconds to believe it.
