Rewind feature looks neat, no more save scumming needed!

The NES games though... think it is about time to introduce the Super Nintendo?

Yeesh, are these the only two NES games Nintendo could squeeze onto the service? They really need to talk to Square and get their support on this. Final Fantasy, the Dragon Quest games...heck, where are Rad Racer and Rad Racer 2?

I know there are some people out there that genuinely enjoy Donkey Kong 3. And that's fine. But does anyone actually, unironically, enjoy Wrecking Crew?!

Bah. Wake me up when we get Snow Bros. and/or Bubble Bobble.

Rewind feature!? Heresy!!!

...everyone's already played these games though, having a cool remixed thing like this is pretty neat.

And don't knock Wrecking Crew guys, that's a great game! Donkey Kong 3 might be a fart in the wind, but Stanley the Bugman is exactly the sort of weird obscure thing that I find tantalizing.

Kind of a rough month, but I have some nostalgia for DK3. Rewind is an awesome feature, too.

That said, if you use it, you're a n00b.

Rygar just got added to the NES lineup. Cool...?

Three more SNES games were added:

Operation Logic Bomb (???)
Wild Guns (Awesome!)
Panel de Pon (Whaa...? SUPER AWESOME!)

EDIT These will be added on 5/20/20.

@GameDadGrant

The original Panel de Pon? Super Famicom version? Interesting!

I thought we had a general thread for the NSO NES and SNES thingies, but if not, perhaps someone less lazy than me should create one.

@Secret_Tunnel Yup. My guess is that Nintendo didn't feel like removing the word "Tetris" from the title screen of Tetris Attack.

Good stuff! Except for Logic Bomb, which I... assume is good stuff?

I can't wait to play Panel De Pon online and be way better or way worse than whomever I'm playing!

Looking forward to revisiting Rygar, too.

Oh no. That's a temptation I don't need. Save states are already more than enough when revisiting old games so you don't totally ruin the challenge.

@Hinph

This headline is a year old, haha. But I'm always down to revive the difficulty in games debate!

"Why should your lack of willpower remove other people's options!?"

Okay, then we should treat easy modes like drugs and make them illegal for minors. 😁

@Secret_Tunnel

I had no idea. Haha.

@Secret_Tunnel

Yup! As @Mop it up confirmed, it's the original SFC game. And as mentioned before, it's likely because Nintendo was too cheap to edit the ROM and take out the "Tetris" name or to pay royalties for the name (again).

Which wouldn' be a problem if they had N64 games on the service, and could just put Pokémon Puzzle League on Switch instead! Why is that game "stuck" on Wii/Wii U?!? *grumble grumble*

Yeah it is a bit of a bummer not to have the Yoshi stuff in the game. The first level music and art was really good. Nintendo really loved milking Yoshi when they could in the 90s.

New games were released today. Joy!

I played through Wild Guns with liberal use of the Rewind feature. Great game.

I played a bit of Operation Logic Bomb, and it's... not bad?

Panel de Pon is of course a classic, though I've only played a tiny bit of Tetris Attack as a kid, and probably won't play more than the 15 minute refresher I played today.

Weirdly, that taste of Panel de Pon game did get me in the mood to try Wario's Woods, which has a pretty neat twist on the falling block puzzle game. It's also just funny to see Wario on the NES for some reason.

@nate38

It's funny to me that an NES game came out in 1994!

It's funny to me that they keep releasing the NES version of Wario's Woods, instead of the SNES version!

Operation Logic Bomb is pretty good! I came pretty close to beating it. Apparently there is a secret missile weapon you can get in the game that DEFINITELY makes some parts of the game easier. Hoping to beat it sometime over the next week. THIS is the kind of game I come to this service for. Games I wouldn't normally buy, but are also decent and fun. Not the greatest, but solid entries on their respective platforms. I enjoyed Vice Project Doom as well. Still never beat Journey to Silius though...the continues and lives make the game pretty freaking difficult. It's definitely "NES hard."

@Secret_Tunnel It's also the only NES game which received a rating from the ESRB.

@Anand That isn't funny to me! The SNES version is better, I have no idea why they've never re-released it.

@Mop it up

From what I've been told, the SNES version was a North American exclusive. It never came out for the Super Famicom. It was available in Japan a couple of times via the Satellaview service, but never as a physical release. Because of that, Japan is *sort of* unaware of the SNES game. So they just...kinda...forget about it and focus only on the NES version.

Lousy excuse IMO, because the SNES version is great and I think more people should play it. But I'm pretty happy with the NES version so this is only a minor complaint.

The SNES Wario's Woods is defffinitely better than the NES game. I'd absolutely agree that it's a shame it's not on the service.
