@Zero A lot of SNES RPGs didn't sell well in the US, and gained popularity later on, which is part of the reason the cartridges have always been so expensive. I'd honestly never heard a single thing about FF VI before I played it meself, though that also in turn ended up being a good thing. I'd mainly just heard about FF IV (then II) and Chrono Trigger for SNES RPGs. This was like 2005 or so, maybe 2006. Things seemed to pick up after that, though part of it is that this is probably one of those things where a person doesn't really notice something until they experience it first, then they start seeing it. The world's a big place, it's pretty easy for two very different people to have had two very different experiences, makes sense to me. This is also why I had asked it as a question, not made a statement, so there's no reason to be getting all uppity, hee hee. |

Do you miss classic Smash side-games like Break the Targets and Board the Platforms? Well, there's a halfway decent substitute now, thanks to the stage builder and one enterprising stage creator who made some puzzle platformer-ish obstacle courses for a handful of characters. I tried these myself: very tough, but definitely fun. I manged to finish the Ike, Villager, and DK stages, but got absolutely nowhere with Pokemon Trainer. The goal is to reach the purple platform at the end. Play using these rules: 30 HP 99 stock Hide damage % 2P set to Jigglypuff (small portrait) Items off (For the best camera view, move 2P to the pink ground in the top left corner.) Don't watch the videos if you don't want spoiled on how to complete the courses! You can download the stages by searching Smash's online content menu and entering the ID in the Youtube video title. (The Ike stage ID is outdated as of this post, but you can find the re-uploaded version by just searching for keyword "ike course" like I did. I wasn't able to find the Greninja course, unfortunately). |
