Who else is planning on picking this up? It would be fun to get an online party going for once; Luigi's Mansion 2 had a really good co-op mode and this version appears to be more expanded and fun than before. In pretty much the best team-up ever, Luigi, Luigi, Luigi, Luigi, Luigi, Luigi, Luigi, and Luigi must work together to capture ghosts and complete objectives in the ScareScraper! That's right, this time around there can be up to 8 players, so we can all join in on the fun! Luigi wins by doing absolutely everything!

Mop it Up is right 2 was SO MUCH FUN online and it looks like they expanded that even more.

Mop, Shadowlink, me and a few others used to play this a bunch. Looking forward to jumping back in!

Wow this game is beautiful, so much detail packed into every nook and cranny. Definitely in the running for best presentation on Switch!

Only about an hour in, but I'm loving this game's sense of humor thus far.

@Secret_Tunnel

You make the posts that everyone else here is too much of a coward to make.

Took me like 5 hours to finish the tutorial.

Every nook and cranny baby!

I was so pleasantly surprised that the game made me laugh out loud two different times before I even got the Poltergust! And it's been great ever since.

Like the others here, I'm also taking my time with the game. I only have the first 5 floors unlocked (6 if we're counting B1), but I have found all or almost all of the gems on each of those floors. I'm really surprised I haven't found every gem considering how thoroughly I've explored each of those floors.

I don't quite understand yet how to search for and find Boos; for example, there is one area on the second floor where my Poltergust vibrates like crazy, but there's nothing for me to interact with and nothing appears by shining the blacklight around; walking further down the hall and I run into some items I can interact with, but doing so doesn't cause any Boos to appear but I'm having a blast with everything else in the game.

I wasn't a big fan of Dark Moon's level/mission system, but LM3 seems to have found a way to take the good parts of that system while making it still feel more like the mansion from the original game.

All that said, it does make we wonder what a hypothetical LM4 would look like. Unless Luigi takes on a haunted town or haunted cruise liner after this, I don't know where the series goes from here.

@V_s For what's in your covered text: The sensor will also vibrate when you are in a room adjacent to a room containing a Boo, and will become stronger as you approach the entrance to the room containing the Boo. So that may be what it was you were experiencing.

@carlosrox Ha ha, you'll never be able to make it past the first floor of the Scarescraper, since you get only five minutes to complete the objectives!

@Mop it up

Thanks for the tip! Hopefully next time I go back to it I can apply that to my playthrough.

I keep thinking some floor will disappoint me and they just keep getting better and better!

Using the buzzsaw on floor 7 was so much fun!

They should seriously have made a mode for this game that is just like "wreck as much shit as you can in 5 minutes for points". That would have been SUCH A GREAT MODE.

Finished the main game!

Overall, loved it. Great sequel. I will say though, probably my favorite floors were around the middle of the game. The tree, castle, and movie set especially stood out to me. Not that the later floors are bad or anything, some are pretty solid, but they didn't quite hit me the same. And a few of them are essentially just boss floors without much else to do.

Also, the early game feels a bit non-linear, but after awhile it gets very linear, and you're basically just going floor by floor with a few small exceptions. Not that this is bad, but if people really missed the non-linear feel of the original, it's still going to feel more disjointed. It's kind of in between how 1 and 2 were laid out.

Still, super fun, super creative. And the last floor / bosses are legit some of the best in the game, so it ends strong. Hard to know how it compares to 2 for me, probably not *quite* up there, but close.

The online multiplayer mode is good, but it is pretty much the same mode as 2 copied over, with less options, so it feels a bit been there done that and it gets repetitive fast. Still, I want to play online with some of you some more!

The offline multiplayer modes look new and interesting, but I haven't tried them yet. Curious why they are offline only. Ah well. At the Chicago party! We need to!

Oh yeah, that reminds me that I forgot to mention that I completed the game 100%. If anyone would like some help or hints or anything like that, just let me know!

@Mop it up

Do you get anything for doing all of the achievements? I've collected all of the Boos and Gems, but not sure I care enough to 100% the achievements. Loved the rest of the game though.
11/26/19, 02:02
@V_s Yes, but it isn't anything related to gameplay. You get the option to turn the vacuum gold.

Chiming in as well to say I finished this earlier in the week. Found all of the gems and boos.

I think it's the best and most complete of the three Luigi's Mansion games. I had a blast taking my time and exploring every room, and returning to previously-visited floors to find the things I had missed. The creativity and variety on display with each floor kept the game from ever losing steam, which I felt happened to Dark Moon at a certain point.

Such a charming experience on a moment-to-moment basis.
