Whoa, we can't edit the main post anymore? That's a bummer.

Anyway, who is going to pick this up? I just watched reviews on lunch. It's getting great complements from Nintendo Life, GameXplain, and Nintendo World Report. IGN gave it an 8.7.

I'm surprised and pleased. I'm genuinely hyped for this game now. I love the idea of the tonic customization. The alternate stages is super cool too. This game seems to have a lot more interesting ideas than the original Yooka-Laylee.

The game releases next Tuesday. I'm pumped. Will definitely get this year, or so I hope.

Seems like this game is a much better Donkey Kong Country take than the last one was a Banjo-Kazooie take. I still hope they really figure out Banjo-Kazooie someday though.

I made a post about it! AND I posted about it in the moderator thread! I had my reasons and they make some sense! Seems most people agreed!

I'm in. I actually enjoyed Yooka-Laylee quite a bit, warts and all, and am always down for a good 2D platformer.

I also want to see Playtonic succeed and hopefully get closer to the dream 3D platformer we all want with their next attempt.

@Zero

I'm a fan of making that first post look nice. I understand not many people followed suit and I guess that's the way it is.

I reeeeally want this but the Switch has too many games, sigh.

Looks really good to me, especially at a budget price. If it's not too long, I might pick it up in the near future.

Wait... why is this game $29.99 on PS4 everywhere and $39.99 on Switch everywhere?! Is it the cartridge thing?

@Zero

Yeah, it's the cartridge thing alright. Still $29.99 if you download it on the eShop at least.

Damn, there's a Switch tax? I'd like this physically but that certainly doesn't help...

@Hinph Ah I somehow didn't think to check the eShop. That's good.

I'm fucking in love.

The music!!! I'm getting major Tropical Freeze vibes from this!

I've decided to put off the Rubber Ring game and get this for now instead. Man, it's October. It's all chilly now. I don't feel like moving around. I want to drink pumpkin spice beers, eat candy corn, and play with a little jumpy lizard and bat under my heated blanket. I want to dress up as a kitty cat and meow at strangers. Rubber Ring game seems better suited for spring.

This is a fun platformer. Definitely check it out if you like the DKC games, new and old.

I love how they've done away with lives. Also, the Queen Bee lady looks like an old friend of mine, which makes me want to help her out more. I really hope she doesn't beetray Yooka and Laylee.

Definitely want to check this one out. I'm at a weird point in my life where I don't have much time for games, but then when I do play games I pick really time consuming stuff like Final Fantasy 8. Don't get me wrong, I liked FF8. But I could've used that time to play Fire Emblem or Goose Game or any number of more compelling games. Maybe I find myself gravitating towards these grindier, less engaging titles because they let me double up on my free time. I can put something on in the background while I'm grinding out spells at 3x speed in FF8.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Can't wait to pick it up at some point.

Is it just me or is there like a 1-2 minute load every time you start the game up? So weird and annoying.

Oh yeah, I'm playing this now.

FYI this game is free right now on Epic Games service, you can own it for nothing because of their Christmas giveaway thing.

That's amazing actually. My copy is arriving today for Switch, so I'm glad I'll still play it there. Not bad to have though on the computer for the future.

Hmm. I'm pretty deep into this game. It's not bad. I wouldn't say it is great either, just a solid if not remarkable platformer.

But holy cow the paywalls are annoying. Don't make me replay levels over and over looking for obtuse collectibles just to move on! Collecting that kind of thing should be OPTIONAL.

So, I finished a level... not sure what number, in the mid to late teens somewhere... and... nothing. No more levels. Dude already said there are no more gates to unlock. Not sure what I'm supposed to do now. Go try the impossible lair I guess? But I don't think I played every level yet? Though who knows, because the game sure isn't clear about it.
