Reviews are coming out

It's sitting right next to Woolly World with a high 7 average so I have a feeling it is kind of like, if you liked that one, you will like this one, etc.

Loved the demo, can't wait.

Woolly World had a really cool atmosphere and I expect more of that here.

I really liked Woolly World, but something about the demo rubbed me the wrong way. I think it is the way aiming works now. It's much slower to stop and move the aiming reticle around to hit something. I much prefer the Yoshi's Island or Woolly World method where the reticle automatically moves both and forth.

Anyone else feel the same?

Man, the aiming in the new demo was a sigh of relief after so many years dealing with the auto cross-hair to me

Fuck I didn't even know this was out so soon. I thought it was next month.

Life is going by too quickly now.

I've made it most of the way through the first world. It's a super pleasant experience. The Yoshi games have never been about tight platforming or stellar gameplay. They're about creating a pleasant experience through audio, visuals, and gameplay. And in that regard, the Yoshi series (in addition to Kirby Yarn) excel.

Whoa, I really love this game! Where Wooly World felt like a follow up to Yoshi's Island, this feels like the ideal version of Yoshi's Story. The simpler levels with an increased focus on crafted visuals, free aiming eggs, occasionally moving between lanes, the cute screen where you pick what color Yoshi you want, a soundtrack mainly comprised of a single song remixed in various styles. This genuinely feels like a redo of Yoshi's Story. And I adore it. Is the platforming as tight as it is in Yoshi's Island or Wooly World? No, not really. Is this game more wholesome, charming, and heartwarming than just about anything I've ever seen? You bet it is.

I've got a feeling I like this game more than most people. It's not masterfully designed in terms of pure gameplay, but all of its pieces come together to create an experience I enjoyed more than most games. It might just beat Yoshi's Island as my favorite Yoshi game.

Dude, Yoshi's Crafted World is soooo good! I was so-so on the demo, so I rented it from the library, and it seriously shattered my expectations. I had a huge grin on my face for at least 50% of the playtime. It's such a pleasant game, and the level design is so freaking clever! Sure, it encourages you to return to the levels in different forms, but it never forces you to. Even when you do retraverse the levels, the game economy of flowers and coins helps it to not feel like a waste of time. And the music may not be Yoshi's Island/Story level, but it's not bad at all.

Those are the only negatives that I can levy against what I played. Great stuff! I'm definitely going to buy my own copy. I hope that Crafted World doesn't fly under the radar due to the tutorial-esque demo. I was worried that the whole game would be just a charming, but braindead stroll, punctuated by occasionally stopping to shoot random items in the foreground and background, but it isn't that at all. Dying is rare, but finding all of the red coins and finishing with full health makes for a nice, engaging challenge. In short, it's a great Yoshi game!
