Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick's spiritual successor to their point-and-click classics Maniac Mansion and The Secret of Monkey Island. Built with modern technology to perfectly emulate the experience of the pixelated adventure games of yesteryear. Explore the mysterious town of Thimbleweed Park as five different characters, discover how their respective fates are intertwined, and solve a murder mystery in the process.

Any self-respecting point-and-click fan owes it to themself to check out Thimbleweed Park. Especially if you used to play the old Lucasfilm Games classics. Terrible Toybox has done a fantastic job bringing back the style of adventure games from the early 90's, but Thimbleweed Park is more than just a retro styled showcase of old school gameplay and self-referential humor; it's also an atmospheric, funny and engaging mystery in its own right.

I haven't been able to put it down since I got it this thursday, and since I bought it on the Switch I haven't really had to! Twelve hours in, and it's still as delightful as it was when I started.

Aw man, even though I was there the very second the pre-orders opened I didn't manage to get the big box edition of the game before it was sold out! Oh well, guess I'll just order the standard physical version.

Well, fuck that. They should have announced this ahead of time, IMO. Orders can't be cancelled, and I'm not gonna get three copies of the game for the same system! Thanks for the heads up, though!

Nice, I just ordered the standard edition. Hope to see them do more physical Switch games going forward.

I already bought the digital version on the Switch, but I'm tempted to buying a physical copy. The less space digital games take up on my system the better!

Didn't post about it, but I got my physical copy from Limited Run last month. Good stuff. Not Sonic Mania Plus beautiful, but totally on par with other physical editions, and perhaps even a bit better considering we get a little instruction manual as well.

Also, this post from the official Thimbleweed Park forum is pretty cool.

TWP has been massively successful on Switch and I have no doubt that is cannibalize Steam to some extent. By next month we will have sold more on Switch than Steam and Switch shows little signs of letting up.

Would love to see this keep going and selling well enough to give us another point-and-click from the gang, but sadly I doubt that will happen.
