Super Mario Odyssey is clearly a game that we are all going to be heavily involved in. Most of us anyway. It's looking stellar and thus we expect our game collections for Switch to jump up by one. However it also only has been seven (yes just seven) months since the Switch came out in the first place! So I was curious, just how many games have you amassed so far?

Tally up how many games you have on cartridge and how many you have digitally and submit that total here as your vote. I'm curious to see how quickly this system has grown on us as a community. Don't add in Super Mario Odyssey of course, but just anything with it's own icon on the Switch. Even if it's from Japan or Europe via a different account. I wouldn't probably consider demos or dlc in this count so I would discourage that.

Post below how your total breaks down between cartridge titles and digital downloads also!

Why is there no "0" option? Biased poll is biased. :P

@Mop it up

You find me one Switch other with no games, lol
10/07/17, 06:03
@DrFinkelstein *raises hand*

Your question isn't directed at Switch owners, though. It's directed at people getting Super Mario Odyssey. Which is me.

I don't have a Switch yet, but I supported the Kickstarter for Yooka-Laylee for the Switch, so I technically have 1 Switch game? (Even though that game hasn't been released on the Switch yet.) So that's my answer for lack of a 0 game option.

Caligula 2: The Revenge of Caligula

31. AND there still tons of shit that I want to pick up, like Rabbids, Shovel Knight, Stardew, Golf Story, Axiom Verge, Volgarr, Earth Atlantis, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Tumblestone (the style is horrible, but it looks fun), Ninja Showdown (might be shitty, but looks fun), Voez, Mario Bros., Pokken, Thimbleweed, Robonauts, Neurovoider, Azure Striker Gunvolt, forma.8, Piczle Lines, Jackbox 3, Sonic Mania, Severed, Slime-san, Namco Museum, Infinite Minigolf, Overcooked, De Mambo, Implosion, Last Resort, Shock Troopers 2, Metal Slug 3, NAM 1975, Snake Pass, and Snipperclips. Holy fuck!

I'm going to start waiting for sales, though. There's a nasty trend of heavily discounting indie games on other platforms durung their full price launch on Switch. I like supporting indies, and the Switch is a great home for them, but I'm starting to feel like a sucker. I can exercise patience, too. Maybe.

Still, what a strong freaking launch lineup. Of real games. GAMEY-ASS GAMES. The only one that I regret buying is Rocket Fist. It's kind of low-rent, and the Switch version has missing features. Thumper hasn't really resonated with me, either. And the upcoming Redout also looks dubious, although I preordered it during a sale at the launch of the system.

Still, the Switch kicks ass. It's an amazing console and a god-tier handheld. I just picked up Inversus, which is super cool and elegant, and I also started playing Disgaea 5. It's really good, as long as you don't redeem the game-breaking bonus DLC too early. I had to start a new save file, since being OP was no fun.

I'd make official topics about all of these games, but I have to add them to the database every time. You data entry slackers!

Just one game for me -- Splatoon 2. There are a bunch of indie games that I want to get eventually, but right now I'm working through my backlog.

So this year, we got Tumblestone, Tumbleweed, and Thimbleweed Park...? @_@

@GameDadGrant
I like how you post the full game names in italics. It's a small thing but I enjoy it for some reason.

Man, there are a lot of people who skipped out in Mario + Rabbids, aren't there? Bummer.

@Secret_Tunnel
I'm definitely getting it at some mysterious point in the future. There are just too many games!

This is probably one of the best years in gaming history.
10/07/17, 21:43
@Anand
Yeah, if Odyssey ends up being as good as it looks, 1998 and 1994 are going to have some serious competition! Really makes up for last year being one of Nintendo's worst.

@TriforceBun

What other years come close to 2016 and/or 2015? Maybe 2009? 1990...?
