I played a lot this weekend with my brother-in-law, and saw canonj hop in with us for a while (and he splatted me...a lot). But I did finally make it to level 10, so there's that. Yay ranked matches!

Finally got to sit down with Salmon Run the last few days. Awesome addition! Sucks to lose with 1 second left in round three though. Ugh.

@ludist210

Yeah, good games yesterday! I was trying out the Rapid Blaster for the first time and surprisingly liked it!

@canonj

I've never used it in multiplayer. I like it in single player, so I might give it a go at some point.

Apparently Nintendo is keeping the random creative nonsense coming and a Twilight Zone Themed Stage will be in rotation this weekend.

You crazy, Nintendo. Keep it up.

Cool! Not sure if I really like the idea of a Splatfest only stage, but oh well, I'm really against it either.

Another WIP of my Splatoon 2 fanart. Ink almost done, color next. Color tomorrow, though. My eyes need a break.

@J.K. Riki @DrFinkelstein

I'm glad the game eventually put all three of us on the same team, Good games, guys!

@r_hjort

Haha. This is why Pearl is awesome.

@J.K. Riki

Looking good!

@canonj

I was having fun using the blaster that's loaned out in the most recent Salmon Run. Blasters were probably my least-used weapon in the original Splatoon, but I'm kinda eager to unlock that one for Turf Wars.

Got to play with Fink and Octo today, who are so far better than me it isn't even funny! :) It was fun. And they managed to help me break my streak of 16 losses in a row, lol. My new winning streak record is "2" now.

Time to put some more hours into single player and trying to improve, I guess...

Started this yesterday. It's officially my "play during lunch hour at work" game for the foreseeable future. I did a little bit of the single-player and have been messing around with the controls; I'm 100% sold on table-top mode. I was playing handheld for a little bit and just wasn't feeling it, but switching to table-top has been a revelation. So liberating!

Still getting used to the controls. I will try and get through the single-player using motion and just see if it clicks with me. The problem I'm having is that it's tough for me to unwire my brain and not use the right-stick to look up and down, if I'm also using it to look left and right. I read somewhere that it might be better if I keep my thumb off the right-stick altogether and just keep pressing Y to re-adjust the camera. I'll try that today and see if that works better for me.

@TheBigG753

Also mess with sensitivity settings if you haven't yet. That made motion controls "click" for me far more than anything else. The default settings didn't work for me, but changing it up just a little bit helped a ton.

I don't understand Tower Control at all. I'm awesome at Turf War and am getting pretty good at Splat Zones, but I still have yet to win a single game of Tower Control. It seems like the exact same premise as Splat Zones, so I'm not sure what I'm missing!

@TheBigG753

The right stick is for squid form only, for the most part. Keep your thumb off of it unless you're swimming in ink (for the most part). I saw someone say that you should play the game as though there isn't a walk animation. You should almost never be walking somewhere while you're not shooting; if you're not shooting, be in squid form!

Three days of work. Done now. Sleep.*

*Lies, more Splatoon.

@J.K. Riki That turned out pretty well! If I didn't know you made it, I would wonder if it were some sort of official artwork.

@J.K. Riki

That's so good! Nice choice of colors for the background, too.

Man, I cannot get used to the freehand Joy Con motion control in this game, even though I assumed that it would be my standard control scheme. I loooved the Nunchuk & Wiimote pointer controls, but freehand Joy Con just don't feel the same.

Which control scheme are you guys using?

@J.K. Riki
Nice! What's she drinking? Ink? Does she take it black?

Does she take it back?

@Anand

Using the pro controller, definitely the way to go for me. I tried joycons too and figured I'd love it but the controls just feel too light and it's like I can't get a good aim going. The added weight of the pro controller gives it a better feel overall. Maybe I should try the joycons again... but then the ZR trigger is MUCH better on the pro. I wouldn't want to try out the brush type weapons on a joycon.

@Mop it up@Octorockin@Anand

Thanks all!

As for the drink, I figured Pearl was a coffee kinda squid. Like... she needs it. All the time. Which is maybe why she's so high strung.

And on the control-scheme front, I use the Joycons in their little Joycon holder thingy. It works well for me now that I've gotten used to it! I was going to try without (freehand style or whatever) but I read online many people didn't like that way, so I just kept them docked in their little plastic house.

Is anyone else's plaza full of furries today? I expected most of the artwork to be about ketchup or mayonnaise because of the Splatfest, but it most of the scribbles have to do with furries one way or other. Is it the whole squid/kid thing that attracts furries or what? Is this memes? Don't people get aroused by their own species anymore? What gives? I'm old.
