@Hero_Of_Hyrule

Yeah, totally. I really enjoyed every dang second. Now I patiently wait for the DLC.

@DrFinkelstein

I hope the DLC adds 500 more Koroks.
04/28/17, 14:16
@DrFinkelstein Wait... that's not actually possible is it? Did you use a guide for the koroks?
04/28/17, 15:37
Vah Naboris is the thing of my dreams. I'm just gawking at this not even moving. Time is just slipping away turning the camera around, taking in all the ridiculous demon tech going on inside my *fucking* Switch.

I wanna meet the aliens Nintendo fucking hired.

@Zero

A guide only used to narrow down my search locations. I don't have the time to literally and fully blind navigate the world for each Korok. I still had to figure out what kind of Korok puzzle I was looking for, solve it, etc. So maybe that dulls the achievement down for some folks but I'm still proud of it. However my account only reads 99.91% complete because I think there's one single location I never 'activated'. I have no idea how to properly find out what that is. Looking at the map just makes my head hurt because of who knows where it could be. So this might be my personal "100%".
04/29/17, 14:32
@DrFinkelstein Nice job! What would you say was the toughest thing for you to track down or figure out?
05/03/17, 00:30
@DrFinkelstein
You dulled it big time alrite :p

So has anyone tried the audio options yet? I already played like 80% of the MAIN game in English so it'd be dumb to switch over now for a few memories and like 2 or 3 cut scenes. Bit of a shame it wasn't available at launch. At the same time it's pretty awesome they actually did it at all, it's a great sign.

To be fair the game doesn't have much in the way of voice acting anyway so this entire thing is kinda weird. You'd hear different voices just for the few cut scenes and memories you could rewatch yourself anyway? Why not just change the audio and watch all the memories in the menu?

Is that a weird complaint that doesn't make any sense? Not sure if I'm making sense or if I'm being clear on this one.

Anyways, still really cool they did it and I'm definitely gonna check it out.

Probably seeking the Korok seeds around the castle and castle grounds. You don't have the same kind of privacy and times to seek out there. Yeah you can go fight everyone but even that isn't practical when Korok hunting. Plus the fact not all are 'above ground' there was challenging.

There also was a Korok seed in the Akkala region that dumped me for some time. I had a feeling one was around there but it took like a half hour to figure out and then I did so by accident, lol.
05/03/17, 12:41
@DrFinkelstein Yeah, I remember finding one in the castle and thinking it would be a pain to find any others there. One thing that makes it tougher to keep track is how the map switches to a 3D one.

Myself, I've done everything but the Koroks. I kinda lost interest in those after getting all the slots, so I'm a little under 500. If I get the DLC later then maybe I'll go for the rest.

Did you upgrade all the clothes, or does that not count for you?
05/04/17, 01:25
Do you guys think the devs intended for people to find all 900 Korok seeds? It seemed to me like they were extra little bonuses to stumble upon while exploring.
05/04/17, 01:33
@Secret_Tunnel I think I said it earlier, but no, I don't think they intended people to find them all, which is why you stop getting rewards after a little less than half of them. My guess is that they wanted to give people options on how to find enough for the equipment slots, since players can go just about anywhere in the world.
05/04/17, 01:45
@Secret_Tunnel

100% no for a few reasons:

1. The sheer amount of them. 900 things is a lot of things to be meant to go out and find.
2. The repetition of the content. There is only so much variety with the Korok seeds. Touch the flowers, fix the shapes, get to a vantage point, glide through a ring, target practice etc. Concepts repeat often and are trivial to solve.
3. The rewards are structured to be much, much more rewarding starting out and nigh pointless at the end. The first extra slot for each gear type is simultaneously the most valuable (increases inventory size by largest%) and costs the least (1? Maybe 2 seeds). By the end, you're paying 100s of seeds to go from 13 slots to 14 which is fairly minimal benefit.
4. The reward for getting all of the seeds is purposefully inconsequential. They could've just ignored it but they deliberately recognize it by giving you something with no value whatsoever.
5. You have no way of tracking the seeds as you do shrines. You don't know where to look or where you have already found seeds unless you mark it yourself. This is in a game that will let you track down any item you want specifically. (This point is undermined somewhat by them releasing DLC that gives you something of a notification but it doesn't sound like it will be as comprehensive as shrine finding aids).

The only argument you are meant to, that is credible to me, is that they count towards the overall completion percentage. I think this was an oversight on Nintendo's part though after all the lengths they went to to disincentivize finding them all in the game.

I think that the reason there are so many is that the large world can be sufficiently dense with them and players will find a lot of them as they just look around the world and check stuff out without worrying about combing the entire landscape for them. I also think that that is why they purposefully don't have oodles of variety with them either, so people won't feel like they are missing out on cool content if they don't get all the seeds. It is just a variation of something you've already seen before.

If I was to point to anyways the system could be improved I would say that they shouldn't count towards the percentage and that the rewards should stop after maybe like 300ish seeds or so (since they're pretty well useless after a point anyway). Maybe have the character then leave to go to another world or something so you're just picking stuff up explicitly without a point.
05/04/17, 02:10
But there's no reward for 100%, it's just a pointless acheesement as is finding all 900 Koroks. So I'm not seeing the difference there and why that's a problem.

Also, found Koroks are marked on your map. You just have to zoom in all the way to see the marks. There's also no single equipment upgrade that requires 100 or more seeds.

@Mop it up@Mop it up

But we only know that because someone did it to see what would happen. If the character left and said something to the effect of you can keep getting more seeds but they won't do anything to benefit you. That communicates that there isn't any reason to keep getting them as opposed to rewarding them all the way up until the point of finding them all. It's essentially just more slots and a pointless gold star but for some people that is enough reason to go find them all.

It's been a bit since I played so I appreciate the corrections.

I went into that longgggggg valley not expecting much, and it did start a bit slow, but it ended up being a pretty tight and neat little strip of the game. A shrine followed by one of the best mini-games in the game Boom Bam Golf!!! followed up by the hidden temple which had a pretty neat lead-up to another shrine.

Satisfying!

@Mop it up

I am most of the way there on clothing but upgrading it doesn't count in my mind to 100% it. However I've pondered going back to do that. Only those fire lizards and star pieces would be much hassle for me IMO.
05/04/17, 13:32
@DrFinkelstein Oh yeah, those star fragments are pretty annoying to collect. Even worse than the dragon stuff. I think I only ever found 3 from ones that fell from the night sky, and then a couple as rewards somewhere. It would be nice if any of the DLC offered star fragments as rewards.
05/04/17, 21:54
@Mop it up
Why? I like getting them. I find it rewarding/enjoyable.
05/04/17, 22:17
@carlosrox The problem is that they don't appear often enough.
