@Secret_Tunnel100% no for a few reasons:
1. The sheer amount of them. 900 things is a lot of things to be meant to go out and find.
2. The repetition of the content. There is only so much variety with the Korok seeds. Touch the flowers, fix the shapes, get to a vantage point, glide through a ring, target practice etc. Concepts repeat often and are trivial to solve.
3. The rewards are structured to be much, much more rewarding starting out and nigh pointless at the end. The first extra slot for each gear type is simultaneously the most valuable (increases inventory size by largest%) and costs the least (1? Maybe 2 seeds). By the end, you're paying 100s of seeds to go from 13 slots to 14 which is fairly minimal benefit.
4. The reward for getting all of the seeds is purposefully inconsequential. They could've just ignored it but they deliberately recognize it by giving you something with no value whatsoever.
5. You have no way of tracking the seeds as you do shrines. You don't know where to look or where you have already found seeds unless you mark it yourself. This is in a game that will let you track down any item you want specifically. (This point is undermined somewhat by them releasing DLC that gives you something of a notification but it doesn't sound like it will be as comprehensive as shrine finding aids).
The only argument you are meant to, that is credible to me, is that they count towards the overall completion percentage. I think this was an oversight on Nintendo's part though after all the lengths they went to to disincentivize finding them all in the game.
I think that the reason there are so many is that the large world can be sufficiently dense with them and players will find a lot of them as they just look around the world and check stuff out without worrying about combing the entire landscape for them. I also think that that is why they purposefully don't have oodles of variety with them either, so people won't feel like they are missing out on cool content if they don't get all the seeds. It is just a variation of something you've already seen before.
If I was to point to anyways the system could be improved I would say that they shouldn't count towards the percentage and that the rewards should stop after maybe like 300ish seeds or so (since they're pretty well useless after a point anyway). Maybe have the character then leave to go to another world or something so you're just picking stuff up explicitly without a point.
