@Koovaps Those had me confused for a bit as well, due to the way they're accessed. The way to reach them is probably not where you think it would be.

I loved the Gerudo Highlands. Snow areas are my favorite in these games, they feel so alien and hostile while being beautiful at the same time. An awesome snow environment was my most-wanted thing in this game, and it totally delivered!

@ploot I've bought every piece of armor I came across (as far as I remember?) and I have none that keep my completely warm. I do have a headband that is supposed to keep me warmER, but it doesn't totally stop the pain when I'm high up in the mountains. Although the reverse headband does keep me totally cool in the hottest desert weather, which is a bit odd.

The other weird thing is the armor that lets you walk around ok in the Goron area... doesn't work to keep you cool in the desert? I guess technically it is to keep you from "catching on fire" but like, the only places you would catch on fire look like they are VERY HOT so why would anything that protects you from all of that not work in the desert? I dunno.

@carlosrox City? If you mean the Gerudo city I did all of that stuff already. But that's in a different area. (By area I mean each part of the map that has a border and you unlock in the map by accessing its tower.)

I carried around a Fire Rod in the snowy areas to stay warm.
04/27/17, 21:16
@Zero
@Secret_Tunnel
That's also an awesome way to keep warm.

That said, yeah, I don't think you hit the area where you can get the armor I was talking about. I did the dungeons in a different order than you. Shhhhhhhhh.
04/27/17, 22:20
@Zero If you don't have the cold resist armour set, then you didn't do everything...!
04/27/17, 22:23
@ploot See this is the problem with these kind of games!

@Mop it up I never said I did everything!
04/27/17, 22:25
@Zero To be more clear, I'm referring to this sentence:

Zero said:
City? If you mean the Gerudo city I did all of that stuff already.
04/27/17, 22:28
I didn't mean I obtained literally every possible thing to obtain in that area, I just meant that I have been through that area already and did the beast and more or less explored to my heart's content.

Where do you get anti-cold armor there?!
04/27/17, 22:31
@Zero Ah, sorry, I guess I took the sentence too literally.

If you'd really like to know where is the set, from what I remember... There is a door in an alley behind one of the shops, perhaps the dye shop maybe? Try to open the door, and you'll be asked the secret code to enter. This will begin a quest to find the code to enter, so complete the quest and you'll have access to this hidden armour shop. I'm pretty sure it's in there. There is also a second shop somewhere else which carries it, but that's more convoluted so I won't get into it.

EDIT: Wait a minute, I totally got that mixed up with its opposite effect! The cold one is in Rito Village D'oh. Sorry, my memory stinks. Since the desert is cold at night and the highlands are nearby I thought it was there, but I probably mixed it up with the accessory shop. There's too much junk in this game to keep track of it all!

Yeah I haven't been to the Rito yet. I mean, it's not a big deal, but if you're passing through the Gerudo Highlands from below and haven't done the Rito stuff yet you won't have any armor to completely protect you from the cold, and that area is a whole lot of cold. Maybe should have had it available in more than one place?

@Secret_Tunnel I did that too, for awhile, but it's so tedious switching out weapons every time I want to fight that I ended up wasting it fast.

Funny thing... minor spoilers I guess but whatever... there is that shrine in that area where you have to get the block of ice to what the voice calls "me", which of course turned out to be the end, but I was so confused at first what it meant by "me" because it kept melting VERY FAST and I had no idea what I was doing wrong but I kept thinking the "me" must be something really close because how else would you get this quickly melting block of ice to it?!

Turned out I had my fire sword equipped and, even though it wasn't pulled out, it still generates heat so it kept melting the ice...

@Zero you can get cold resist earrings from the jewelry shop once you finish that quest and pair them with the warm doublet you get from the shop in Hateno.
04/28/17, 01:27
@pokepal148 I must have missed that in Hateno.
04/28/17, 01:37
@Zero

You can also get it before you leave the Plateau for the first time.
04/28/17, 02:12
@pokepal148

You REALLY shouldn't be getting the Warm Doublet from Hateno. And if Zero didn't get it earlier, then he's a lost cause. I say we leave him out on the mountainside to die like the Spartans did.

But yes, that's the same combination I used both there, and then later in Hebra.
04/28/17, 02:15
@Zero Yeah, that's probably why I thought it was available in the desert city. But I'm probably confusing it with getting the cold resist accessory and pairing it with the Warm Doublet. Sorry if I spoiled anything for you.

If you didn't get the Warm Doublet from the old man before getting the glider, it will be available in his cabin inside a chest.
04/28/17, 02:39
I could have sworn I stole stuff from his cabin chest. Hmm.

I have finally put this game down. I nabbed the 900th Korok today, thus completing my intent to do all shrines, beat the game, and find all Koroks. Over 210 hours played.
