Well, I bit the bullet so to speak. Ok, actually I bought this off eBay thinking somebody would outbid me. Oh well, $37 with free shipping, not bad.
Popped this game in yesterday after work, and messed around a bit. My 7yr old was not interested in playing, but I did get him to play a game or two of Quick Draw, but he was not putting any effort into it. My wife was doing homework, and my youngest (4yrs old) isn't allowed to play the Switch yet. Any parents know what the hands of a 4yr old look like, amirite?
So it only gives you access to a few of the 28(?) games at the beginning. No Milk and no Ball Count. Come on, the main reason I bought this game was to experience HD Rumble, more on that later. After a few rounds of double-fisted Quick Draw (I was able to get a tie by firing both guns at exact same time) the game opened up the Team Play and Random modes, along with the remaining 20 games or so.
HD Rumble, I'm pretty impressed. It really did feel like there were marbles in the JoyCons. The Shake the Bottle game (wow, hand gestures, just wow) you could feel a slight fizz, and then bigger bubbles. And not sure what other games really make use of this, the Safe Cracker game, you could feel a distinct difference when you'd hit the right number, but pretty minor. Anyhoo... HD Rumble is cool, and I hope more games make use of it.
As for 1-2 Switch itself, I'll reserve judgment until after I play this in a group setting (most likely involving alcohol too). |
