@TheOldManFromZelda
He keeps saying that but doesn't tell me what I need to make it. What's up with that?

@nate38
I swear I tried both. I thought I had the wrong weapon since those chuckle heads all mention something different. What's all that talk of one being fake? Does the real one even exist?

@carlosrox

There are two tridents that the Zoras hold in high regard.

The first is the Lightscale Trident, the actual weapon Mipha uses. You get this after finishing the Vah Ruta (elephant) Divine Beast and it's a stronger-than-average spear. It breaks like everything else, but a blacksmith in Zora's Domain can remake it for you if you bring him a Zora Spear, a diamond, and five pieces of flint.

The second is the Ceremonial Trident. This weapon looks like the Lightscale Trident, but is only used for Zora ceremonies and as a result isn't as powerful. You can also remake it with the Zora blacksmith if it breaks.

If you don't have it yet, you need the Ceremonial Trident to solve this Shrine Quest.
You can get it by checking under the left-hand "bridge" (9 o'clock position, I think) into the main area of Zora's Domain. It should be in the water by itself (no chest or anything) and you can pull it out with Magnesis. To make things more confusing, there're a COUPLE of spears in the water around there; one of them is just a regular weapon and one is the Ceremonial Trident.

Once you have it, you head to Veiled Falls. Swim up the waterfall then paraglide right above the orange platform, then do a falling strike onto it with the Ceremonial Trident by pressing Y while paragliding. This should reveal the shrine.

@carlosrox You are outright told by Impa to find the Master Sword before you face Ganon really early in the main quest. That's not really a spoiler.

Me revealing where it is or what you need to do to get it is a spoiler.

Lost my post once again thanks to me needing to login again for some reason. That's nice.
Point form now.

Tbun:

-Swear I did all that when I had it
-How do you guys all know the materials you need to remake it? He's not telling me all that, just that it can be done.
-Now need to search the entire region for the spear? Sigh.

Pokepal:
-Then it would be a spoiler for anyone who hasn't gotten that far yet ;)

Yep. I'd love co-op as an option in this game. Exploring Hyrule with my bro(s) would be incredible.

I hate "social gaming". I like to play my damn games alone and in peace. The only reason I accept his wish of coming over to watch me play Zelda is to not be a dick and he doesn't have the game. But fucked if I'm doing anything major while he's around. I'm okay with dicking around areas I've already seen or just doing minor things (at most a tower or small shrine) but I made the mistake of going for a Shrine Quest to throw him a bone. My mistake. The only option I have now is hoping it respawns after a blood moon (I've definitely had one since that time I broke it though and I've been back to check already!!) or coming across it in the world. I've read it can be found on enemies.

Snerk.

Sorry Carlos, but this is kind of funny . I know it's not exactly co-op, but it';s the same distracting presence of another person, and the possibility they'll interfere with what you're doing

@nate38

I automatically assumed you needed to do that. The game basically points you towards using the waterfall, so it happens by default.

Also you can use either of the two weapon options. Both will work. One ois just weaker than the other.

@Shadowlink I didn't know the downward stab existed, so I jumped off the waterfall, paraglided down some, stopped paragliding and then hit the attack button. The idea that I'd get a whole different attack (with seemingly no actual difference?) if hit the button while paragliding never crossed my mind.

@Shadowlink
My brother isn't some loudmouth who talks this and that while playing online games though. We keep it quiet (if we use mic at all).
03/25/17, 01:55
@carlosrox

That's ok. He can quietly find the weapon you want and just not tell you about it as he chucks it away

@nate38
You sure it's a different attack? I thought it was the same 'attack from on high' thing the game gives you the tip about. Attacking just automatically puts the paraglider away for you. You might have just got your targeting a little off (another reason to use the paraglider, to help line up your strike.) I had to do it a couple of times before it registered.
Eh, you got there in the end. And in general it's a pretty neat puzzle. Love the secret shrines in this game. Love love love.

@Shadowlink No, it's a different attack. If you stop gliding, you do a downward slash (the jump attack, basically). If you do it while gliding, it's a downward stab. I don't know if there's any mechanical difference or if it's just aesthetic, but I tried the former a dozen times and it didn't work, but the latter worked first try. Once I looked it up and realized it existed, anyway.

I'm pretty sure it's actually different and behaves differently. I'm guessing the downward stab is also more powerful?

Glorious game right now. Still put everything on halt til I get this spear/do this quest. Basically hours worth of game. And its been amazing.

Hinox fight worthy of the Gods.

Stasis to track enemies/food, amazing.
03/25/17, 04:27
YES I FOUND THE DAMN THING!! AND LIZALFOS WAS KOROK LEAVING ME OFF THE HILL THERE!!!
03/25/17, 04:41
So I got it, now what? He's still saying the same thing...
03/25/17, 04:53
Yep I really may have broken this fucking shrine quest.

.....lame???

Anyways Splatoon time...
03/25/17, 05:01
@carlosrox

If you really think it's broken, maybe it's time to google it. See if that helps.

Me at the end of third to last session: Well, I've unlocked my first dungeon, I'll do that next.

Me at second to last session: Wait, there are a bunch of shrines really close, I'll just cross the border into that new territory and do some of those first.

Me at last session: Whe... where am I? I only did a few of those shrines I was going to do and now I'm nowhere near them anymore! Well, might as well go take on that tower in the distance.

Somewhere in there I learned how to surf on shields, which was pretty cool. I hope more is done with it though.
03/25/17, 09:41
And with a final attack, I have beaten the game. I look forward to continuing on with what's left. Missing about 15 shrines, and tons of Korok Seeds.

Nope it works. Idiots online couldn't be bothered to mention a very important bit of info though.

So i have tryed a couple of times to get into Zelda BOTW have not played a Zelda since OOT on N64. (have played Wind Walker for 1hr)

I have it on My WiiU - Tryed playing with the Pro controller and the Game-pad.

I had been genuinely looking forward to this game for the past 6-12 months,

After about 2hrs of game play i just can not get into it, the controls feel unnatural and awkward to me, some of the game-play mechanics feel unnecessary like the Weapon durability. The story so far compared to other games im playing just doesn't draw me in i believe that could be due to lack of Voice acting / the writing.

Each to their own, I know most people love it and if it works for you best of luck but this game is just not for me.
