A small update was just released, version 4.1

Apparently, all this patch does is auto-unlock Mirror and 200cc for GP mode. The reason seems to be that this was causing problems with some user's data, such as 200cc failing to open up.

Everyone who didn't feel like getting golds in 150cc, you can now play the 200cc GPs.

I came here to mention that Mirror and 200cc were unlocked. I definitely like the increased speed but I would love a GP mode without items. But that would require Nintendo to program decent A.I..

You can do Versus mode without items against the computer, but maybe you already knew that.

Maybe I'll try that out. After a race or two I just get bored with Mario Kart so I've never delved too deep into the game.

edit: Played a few Vs. races without items. With normal difficulty I never saw another racer after getting ahead at the start. On hard there were one or two opponents who were in it to the end. Playing that on the F-Zero tracks was fun but mostly made me wish there was a new F-Zero.

Just finally played the "new" DLC tonight.

And by "new," I mean the stuff that came out in NOVEMBER as well as the stuff that came out a few weeks ago. Played on the Mrs_'s account, and she has a whole heckuva less stuff unlocked than I do. Had to try some different karts out. The Tanooki one is the pits. Played with the Mercedes GLA which wasn't too awful. And then, it happened...

AMIIBO MEGA MAN FIRESUIT

Ran with the roadster looking kart that is blue with yellow highlights. Not sure what its called, but I looked like the f'n Cat's PJ's. Mega Man with a heavy beard is a good look. I've SEEN it.

So this game is still our most played game according to the Game Database… is that because people aren't updating it or are the Negative Worlders still going hard at this?

I'll keep an eye out for ya. I got a new TV recently and have been meaning to revisit all my old Wii U games.
Sadly I can't specify a time because my baby is not sleeping well right now but, like I said, I'll keep an eye out for you on the friends list. I hope you're not as good at MK as you are at Smash.

I still remember now and then just how amazing this game was.

I didn't mean that it still isn't, just that at its height this game was pretty mind blowing. Still one of Wii U's best experiences, and that's saying a lot.

I was totally in love with this game when I was fully into it.

Maybe we could plan something soon. It's no chore going back and playing Wii U games, they're all awesome. But I just have to move on from games sometimes. If not I'd replay my favorite games over and over until I'm absolutely sick of them. I mean, that's almost how I do play games.

Lots of fun, guys! It's too bad I'm so awful.

Racing with Trish, Ploot, Fink, Kris, and Tim tonight (ranked in order of cleanliness), I was inspired by a certain Pac-Man-clad motorcyclist to *GASP* open up some of my Amiibo which have yet to sniff air with their plastic noses, some of whom have been staring at me through a clear barrier since Day 1. Samus, Sonic, Pac-Man, Olimar, and Captain Falcon have been newly unearthed; deciding whether or not I should open up my other Smash ones that I don't have in there (I think Yoshi, DK, Bowser, Wario, Rosalina, Mario), or if I should use the Mario Party ones. Hmm.

Fun races though, took me a while to get going Did you know 'to go' is the A button?
And when you drift, you keep on the gas? Who knew!

Proudest Moment: housing the field on SNES Donut Plains 3, I'LL TAKE IT!
Runner-Up Proudest: Taking 2nd place overall to a class act like Trish who truly raced me clean the entire final lap on N64 Yoshi Valley. Good on ya!


And after Mario Kart Amiibo firesuits, I went to the eShop to make sure I had all the DLC (I do), but then checked which other games I'm missing DLC on. Sorted by "most recent" or whatever. Same old, same old. TMS, got it. Xenoblade, got it. Hyrule Warri-- WHAT. I apparently missed FOUR DLC drops that I must've forgotten about! So I got the Legends of Hyrule pack (9.99), hopefully that covers the 3x 4.99 packs like the description suggests..but who can know for sure (since the Wii U got the butt end of the deal next to 3DS).

Followup question: did Pikmin 3 pull their DLC availability for some reason?? I don't even see an option to see..
