Pokémon returns on the 3DS for what seems to be the last hurrah for the system. New legendaries, new starters, new region, new modes...it's a whole new world, with a brand-new attitude! But you still gotta catch 'em all. Be the best that you can be!
What about access to Pokemon Bank? My plan is to get into my bank, breed my Litten with a Ditto, put the Litten cubs on the GTS and get the other starters.
I just completed the regional Pokedex about 70 hours in, and it was an enjoyable ride from start to finish. This is the first pokedex I've ever completed, although I have gotten up to about 100 or so in Fire Red recently. And I gotta say, the GTS was a godsend. It saved me from a lot of grinding, both for levels and for evolutionary items like the 5% chance that a 5% encounter Pokemon will be holding the item needed to evolve Sneasel.
So if anyone is searching for a specific Pokemon, I might be able to hook you up. I'll still be playing the game since I haven't yet reached this game's version of the battle tower. I'm excited to see the trainers who pop up there, as well as tackling the changes that come with redoing the elite four. Both of which will be series firsts for me.
I think it says a lot that Moon gripped me enough to engage with the game more thoroughly than I have any other Pokemon title. Never before have I had the felt such a desire to complete a regional pokedex or delve into the battle-heavy postgame content. All in all this will probably go down as my favorite Pokemon game.
@Pokefreak911 Can you get your Pokemon out of the Bank if you haven't paid for it this year? Or are my pokemon from ORAS being held for ransom?
Wasn't there an issue with bringing gen 1 or 2 Pokémon to any newer games because they had half the IV points or something? Have they addressed that at all?
Maybe they have since R/B/Y are confirmed to be Pokemon Bank compatible (and maybe Pokemon Sun and Moon?). If they have half the IVs, couldn't any Pokemon from those gens just double the IVs to make it up?
If your trial pass or annual pass expires and you do not purchase a new pass, you can still withdraw your Pokémon from Pokémon Bank for a set period of time. However, once that set period of time ends, any Pokémon remaining in your Pokémon Bank Boxes will be lost. Be sure to withdraw your deposited Pokémon as soon as possible, or purchase a new annual pass.
Man oh man. They really make you work to get to the Move Reminder. I don't recall this NPC being this difficult to get to in earlier games.
By the way, I traded with a buddy online last night, and...did I miss something? Or does Sun/Moon not support voice chat? I'm pretty sure that feature has been in every mainline PKMN game since the DS days. Was it not included for this latest game, for some reason?
I've been addicted to Wonder Trading the last 24 hours. I now have the other two starters and a load of cool dudes.
Why the hell is the Pokemon Bank not ready yet!?
I also just caught my second of the Ultra Beasts! First Beast Ball each time. First one was Sleeping and 1HP but the other was awake and maybe 1/8th HP.
This game got me so enthused about Pokemon that after I finished it I still had enough gas left in the tank to immediately plow through Platinum. I have never felt up for getting through two Pokemon games in a row, so that says a lot.
