So this game has grabbed me hard. I spent most of thanksgiving break playing it, finishing the main story 2 days ago. This is the first time I've really considered completing a pokedex. Yjhanks to the GTS I'm at 75% for the regional dex at about 60 hours. I'll probably finish off the regional pokedex, as I've genuinely enjoyed getting this far and most of the annoying Pokémon to get are behind me. If it weren't for the gts, I probably wouldn't have considered doing so.
As a whole, Inreally love Moon. The themes and sense of family and community really resonated with me. The tropical location has not disappointed, the sound track is wonderful, I'm a big fan of the new Pokémon, and the ways it defies the formula are lovely. I don't really have much I dislike about this game, which is kind of surprising. I haven't really loved Pokémon games like I did when I was younger because with time I've begun to notice the flaws in their pacing and structure that leads to repetitive sections of gameplay where little changes for hours. But with Moon that hasn't really happened so far.
I like the little touches too, like the naturalistic level design, the pokedex's focus on the relationships between pokemon, how all of the challenge leaders seem to be friends. This might be my favorite Pokémon game. |
