So wait is it five cases + a DLC case?
Yep.

Oh man, case 5 is more like it. A backdrop that involves the fate of an entire country, a bunch of mysteries that have no clear answers (including a murder that is probably hugely related but has an unclear connection at the moment), backstory connecting a bunch of seemingly unrelated characters, and oh yeah... a Justice versus Wright showdown!

At this point it is hard to put down, so much going on!

This is some epic shit here.

Finished the DLC case! I have to say, I'm a bit let down...the case starts so strong, with a great setting, a very fun cast of characters, and an intriguing mystery. But it really peters out after the first day, IMO. I still quite liked it overall, but I feel like its excellent parts added up to less than their sum, and it sorta lost its momentum after a bit...

And that's it for AA6! I'll admit I watched the Asinine Attorney things on Youtube...and yeesh, I'm not sure in what universe either of those would be worth four bucks. That quibble aside, overall AA6's an unexpectedly strong entry in the series.

Just finished case 3 and my mind is blown against the wall - just, wow....that ending really gets the point across, if you know what I mean.

Damn, really enjoying this game. So far it's banger after banger. Can't wait to see where the Apollo/Nahyuta thing goes.

Ok nearing the end of case 5 and confused about something. So Maya channeled the already dead Dhurke while being held hostage to go visit Apollo. So she escapes to uh... fly all the way to the US (eat your hamburgers, Apollo) and meet with Apollo and then... she goes back and returns herself to being a hostage I guess? Is this what happened or am I confused about something? She's still a hostage when they get there and all so... she must have went back?! Why would she do that? The only thing I can think of is "to keep Dhurke's secret" but like, couldn't she just say she escaped on her own? And either way, wouldn't Inga have noticed his hostage was missing for... probably days? Keep in mind in this series channeling means this person literally takes over your body, she had to have left right? And came back?

Or am I just incredibly confused here...

Very confusing.

As far as I understand it...

(BIG CASE 5 SPOILERS)

Maya isn't aware of all the stuff that happens when she's channeling Dhurke. She's not aware of going to the US or returning, etc. She just decided to do Dhurke a solid since he died while rescuing her; Dhurke pretty much did the rest.

So Dhurke (in Maya's body) went back to the US to get one more chance to get to know Apollo. Then when Phoenix was being threatened, Dhurke talks directly to Inga on the phone (Inga who is understandably terrified since he's the one who shot Dhurke a couple days ago) and calls his bluff. Indeed, he doesn't have Maya at all. When Dhurke goes into the tomb to meet with Inga, I think that's around the point he gets un-channeled, and that's how Maya is back in the tomb. I don't know how far you are in the case though so I probably shouldn't say any more about the details of the crime. Although a few of them were a bit hazy to me.

Thanks, that definitely clarifies a lot. Although there was an offhand comment Maya made about any decent channeler, herself included, is able to take back control at will... wouldn't that suggest that they have some kind of consciousness of what is happening?

Welp, finished case 5. That was pretty epic. I honestly have to say up to that case this was probably one of my least favorite PW game but man... that case was pretty amazing. Still not sure where it will rank overall for me though, have to try the DLC first.

With that said how long is the DLC case?

@Zero

Dunno, I'll be trying the DLC case soon.

I actually enjoyed all the cases though. Didn't think there was a weak one in the bunch, which is pretty uncommon for the series for me. My case rankings go 5 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 1

According to my 3DS activity notes, the DLC case took about 7 hours.

Looking back, I think I'd rank the cases 5 > 2 > DLC > 3 > 1 > 4

7 hours?!

Well I guess the dollar to hour ratio isn't bad.

Finished the DLC case. Was enjoyable. Probably one of my favorite cases actually, though two things really stood out as a bit odd to me.

1. I might have my AA history wrong here, but AA 5 had the first big Wright versus Edgeworth battle since Edgeworth turned into a friend / "good", right? And in that game it was presented sort of like Edgeworth knew Wright was right, but there needed to be opposition for the truth to come out? But in this case he is just kind of presented as a typical AA prosecutor... totally wrong, belligerent about it, and wanting to end the trial as soon as possible (and get the wrong person convicted for murder.) I dunno, he just didn't really come off as someone not interested in "victory" but "the truth", as he says near the end. And it made him look kind of dumb, like every single time Wright stumbles upon some new thing it takes Edgeworth off-guard, he basically just thick-headedly sticks to being wrong the whole time until the very end. Just didn't feel like the super intelligent, truth-oriented rival Edgeworth has turned into over the course of the series.

2. The big twist is that the butler was actually the dead sister's fiance? HOW WAS HE ABLE TO KEEP THIS A SECRET AND GET A JOB WORKING WITH THE FAMILY? Maybe this was explained but the only way that would make sense is if she kept her fiance a secret from her entire family the whole time they were together? Because otherwise wouldn't a bunch of people in the family recognize him instantly?

So that wraps up the game overall for me. To be honest it's probably near the middle / bottom in my ranking of PW games, but I've pretty much liked them all so it was still enjoyable. Just wish I got hooked into it earlier, it really wasn't until case 5 that I was gripped.

I finally got around to buying this game! It was on sale for the holidays, so I jumped on it. I'm looking forward to playing it after I get done with Shin Megami Tensei IV, DragonQuest VII, Pokémon Moon, 7th Dragon III and Bravely Second.

I figure I'll start around December 28th. 2037.
