@Zero I ended up playing a bit over 2 hours last night. I wouldn't say it has much "depth" but it's still pretty engaging due to every aspect of the game being so fast-paced. Combat is particularly frantic once you're trying to keep an eye on 3+ different kinds of enemies at a time. And taking three or four hits can kill you (though you restart basically right before the battle). I was hoping for foes with a bit more complexity a la Punch Out Wii, but enemies really only have one attack each so far. That said, when you're in a battle against one enemy that attacks on a normal timer, another that attacks if you ignore it, and third that attacks more if you fight it, it's pretty intense trying to juggle between them. The dungeon crawling is mostly just keeping an eye on the mini-map and going to the spot where you haven't been before. I've covered a lot of ground in just 2+ hours, going through what feels like 3-4 dungeons already. And the upgrades come quickly, as long as you're Severing as many enemies as you can (I maxed out the Sever Time part of the skill tree first and I think that's helped me). It's good, it's not quite knocking my socks off, but it is consistently engaging and has great pacing, which made my 2.5 hours played feel like they flew by. |
