It's coming December 3rd! Hopefully it's great!

Here's a full 30 minutes of footage that just went live from GameXplain. It should give a good look at the game's mechanics.

I'm plugging away at this also. Slowly. Been long done with the normal stages. Now besting all the special ones.

Not sure what my record time is on challenge but I know I kicked that things ass within the first two weeks!

I've got seven areas left to unlock in the normal stages, but right now I'm saving up Picrites so I can finally get the Mega Pencil. Hopefully once I get that and it opens up all of the Mega levels, that'll give me enough quick Picrites that I'll be able to open another area or two. So after that I'm planning on opening up Area 30 to get the last timed/secret Pokemon, and then I'll work on 100%'ing the remaining levels until I can open Alt-World.

So you haven't spent any money yet? Perseverance wins the day...

I've only spent two bucks, I think? 180 more Picrites to unlock the Mega Pencil. Although I'm tempted to blow it on the Alt-World...

@Anand

Nope!

Don't go for Alt-world first. If you haven't done any of the Mega missions yet, then keep going to get the pencil. I'm informed that you make almost the entire cost of the Alt-world back up in picrites from those Mega required missions.

Whereas of you go Alt-world then Mega pencil, you get no extra picrites and leave yourself with a massive grind to get the pencil.

Ooo. I figured that going Mega first would be smarter, but I didn't realize that it would give you almost 300 Picrites.

Looks like it's back to the waiting game. Actually, screw that. I wanna play Hungry, Hungry Hippos.

I am so content having just bought this game outright. The quality and amount of content is worth some money. I felt no need to work at 'not paying' for this game.

@DrFinkelstein
Yeah, I don't necessarily feel that my life is richer for having done tons of Daily Training Missions. On the other hand, I can't say that it's that much less rich...

It's not like the game itself isn't worth more than a couple of bucks, though. I wouldn't have felt bad about ante-ing up a bit more.

You know what's fun?

Exhausting your energy meter just before you close your 3DS to start on work. But having just unlocked a 10 x 10 stage with missions like "set only Dark Pokémon", and "Only use Scatter Reveal".

Yvetal, Scatter Reveal 120 squares. Activates despite the lack of energy, and clears the entire 100 square board in a single hit. Insta-clear 0:00.

Somewhere, JKR is crying

8 months of grinding! But I have unlocked the final area! Hooray!

Cleaned out pretty much all the available missions & medals, the bulk of whats left requires Mega Pokemon. The final grind for the Mega Pencil starts now. After that Alt World pays for itself from the remaining mega mission rewards and everything else (extra slots, extra energy) can be unlocked as I work through the glut of puzzles that the Alt-World will bring.

So the 'final' grind of 400 Picrites to go- Or anywhere between 27 and 31 days depending on how many times I hit the bonus in daily training. Could have the game fully cleared sometime in October. Not a bad 10 month distraction.

Hey, your BLATANT CHEATING AND RUINING OF AN OTHERWISE BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE doesn't bother me if that's the HORRIBLE DISGUSTING CHOICE you want to make.

Congrats on unlocking the last bit! My wife is still chugging along with it, but she probably isn't as dedicated as you've been, so looks like it will still be years till I get my turn...

@J.K. Riki

Don't blame me! I have to cheat to get the Picrite rewards! Otherwise I'd be grinding for another year! Your beef is with the design team.

There's no rewards on Alt-World apparently, so maybe I can get away with a 'clean' run through that side of the game when I unlock it?

@Shadowlink

I email that design team daily reminding them they have made the world a worse place.

Still haven't gotten a response.

Dear Mr Pokémon.

There are too many Pokémon abilities in your game. Please eliminate three all of them.

PS. I am NOT a crackpot.

@Shadowlink

Come on, man. I'm at least a decent writer.

The PS. goes after the name.

@J.K. Riki

In this scenario you're senile and you forgot.

@Shadowlink

Ah. Future me, still writing decades later. Yes, that is accurate then.

I had similarly noble intentions for the Alt-World. Granted, I don't have much familiarity with the Mega Picross style of puzzle, but beating those levels in under five minutes with no items (as many of the starred level goals require) seems freaking impossible. Off to Google!

Mega Pencil Get! Tearing through puzzles now. Picrites raining from the sky. Alt-world beckons once I polish off the rest of the Mega stages & standard missions. No more weeks of waiting. Huzzah!

(Just hours of waiting for energy metres to recharge. Upgrading that soon though.)

Now we can have fun, yes?

I have finally finished all of the main world missions, and I'm just waiting to build up enough Picrites to open up Alt-World. After that I'll be looking to get enough Picrites to equip a fifth Pokemon so I can finish off those last few achievements (or whatever they're called).

Unlocked Alt-World last week and finally cleared the Standard mode missions the other day. Starting to attack Alt-mode with a vengeance, sticking to my plans for 'clean' runs. However:

No kidding! Mega Picross is tough. @DrFinkelstein opined earlier that he didn't really want to 'work' to play the game (i.e. constant daily training), but that training helps your normal Picross skills immensely. I laugh in the face of Standard mode time limits. (Except for ridiculous 1 min time limits, but they come paired with Slow Time usage missions.)

Mega Picross though...3 min time limits are standard on the 10 x10 puzzles. I can hit that about...half the time. I just haven't locked down the intuitive logic required to interpret the nuance of 'Mega' number clues yet.

Any tips from Mega Picross veterans? (JKR?)
