Man, Super Mario 64 DS. Solid port with cool extras. I really wish it had analog controls, though...

Yeah, seems like a missed opportunity for them to not "enhance" SM64DS with full analogue--it would've made me re-buy the game in a heartbeat, instead of just passing on it.

That said, I have no idea how difficult that would've been to program in. Probably very tricky.

Excited for AA6!

Oh man! So much Street Fighter! Can you really download those on NEW 3DS? "SURE YOU CAN!"

I'm going to download them ALL.

Also excited for the Ace Attorney demo. Very nice update for 3DS this week.

For those on the fence, I'd say go ahead and check out Super Mario 64 DS. Besides all the new stuff they added to the game, if you use the analog stick to move around, the game actually feels pretty good. (at least, that's been my experience playing the game on 3DS with the Circle Pad) Using the analog stick to move and holding down the "Y" button to run feels very Super Mario 3D World-esque.

Maybe I'll grab SM 64 DS. Y'know, so that I don't have to play it with a stylus.

Speaking of which, didn't the stylus actually allow analog movement, or am I remembering it incorrectly?

I got Street Fighter II Turbo. I'll get Super Street Fighter II in a few weeks after I'm done with this one.

They really should've included Championship Edition as well so TWO games they just released could be instantly outdone.

@Anand It did! There were actually two analog control schemes that used the touch-screen: one where you use the Original DS's included thumbstrap on the screen as a virtual analog stick, and buttons to jump/attack....and another where you used the stylus for analog movement and used the D-pad to jump/attack/crouch. Neither was anywhere close to a real analog stick, but they weren't terrible options. I actually really liked the stylus option, surprisingly.

@nate38
Yeah, I think that I preferred it to the standard D-pad controls (and the thumb pad), but it just felt so wrong to control Mario that way.

I actually completely forgot about the existence of the thumb pad until right now.

Anyway, are you sure that Super Mario 64 DS doesn't have analog control on the Wii U VC? They didn't map the stylus control to the analog stick?

I'm about to blow your mind like mine was blown a few minutes ago. Championship Edition IS included in the game!!! It's under the Turbo option. It's called Normal.

Street Fighter Alpha 2 always amazes me. I mean yeah it is majorly cut back but still get the game on the SNES and still very playable is a fantastic achievement.

@chrisbg99

Agreed. Impressive, fitting that game into an SNES cart. Very playable and fun.

Except if you're fighting on Charlie's stage. Then the frame rate basically becomes a slideshow.
