Currently, the site doesn't bring in much money, and it costs about $85 a year to keep up. Not a whole lot, but the owner of this site isn't particularly rich, so every bit helps. Also, the web designer spent a lot of time and work to implement skins, navigation layout, make the site work quick and neat, and implement the options you asked him, all this instead of doing a paid professional site. The more you support the site, the better it'll run and the more potential its future will have.
They're even worse since the takeover. There's like 5 extra levels between us and the people that actually handle our IT issues.
Im currently working from two different offices because the program I need to keep a lid on my old duties isn't available at the new office. I asked for it to be installed two months ago. No joy yet. In the meantime I'm constantly shuttling back and forth.
...But we digress. This is a site issue. The IT manager in this equation is you. Fix your shit Zero
No one can fix anything to work with IE. Literally no site in the world works perfectly with IE. That's like trying to make a car that can drive through a tornado.
Time zone seems a bit off today. It's saying it's 1:48 am at my place when it's really 12:48. And the timezone I have is the correct one. GMT -5 New York, Boston, Quebec.
I'm pretty sure that wasn't there before and I definitely did not change anything so... I'm guessing the host did some update to the latest version of PHP update or something and some function is working slightly differently.
Hmm, there is some weird glitch where certain game names aren't showing up on the game database page. But they're fine in the database. Probably related to this mysterious m showing up.
...by removing some stuff that I have no idea why it was there to begin with. But someone put it there. Probably for a reason. So I hope I didn't break things worse somehow.
I've been meaning to mention this, but some articles on the main page simply say "No summary, click the topic to watch..." even though none of them are videos. This is appearing for some of the recent reviews, and stuff like the Nintendo Downloads article.
So, when I go to the Games Database and I search for say, Tadpole Treble. I notice it's not logged as Wanted so I select it and then I hit the update button. However it takes me directly to the Tadpole Treble page. That's not really right… what's going on?
That could be the case. Often I edit with many in the list but I was seeking each one individually for the podcast text. If this is the normal status quo, then nevermind me.
Which particular post sparked this? Edits are mostly done by their own user and when a mod makes a change, like myself for example, I put a reason personally.
I'm not sure how we would best implement an automatic notification system. Hmm..
It's something a lot of other sites have, but I'm fine with this one not having it. Sometimes someone says something stupid, or something they regret, or even something wrong or false. If they want to change it so others cannot see what they said in the past then that is fine by me.
I'm of the mind that if you said it, you said it, so when I personally edit, I ADD/CLARIFY (not CHANGE) to a post. Its interesting though that people are changing things and you caught them on it. I'd also like to know which post sparked this..
