I've always wanted to try Mega Man Powered Up, but have otherwise no interest in the PSP. I was a little surprised that the game never released on the DS for various reasons, including that I think it would have sold better to that crowd.

So, what's the difference between this collection and the games on the eShop. And I mean just gamewise, not extra wise.

@sirmastersephiroth

The original 6 NES games included in this collection are exactly the same as they are on Virtual Console. Pretty much perfect emulations. It should be noted that the collection allows you to configure your buttons to your preference, something the Virtual Console on 3DS doesn't allow. For whatever reason.

But otherwise, they are unchanged. It's the extras in the package that make it worthwhile. (and cheaper to download the collection than buy each game individually from the eShop)

@Mop it up
Yeah, it's pretty weird that Powered Up never hit another platform. Ultimate Ghosts'n'Goblins, as well. Capcom WAS developing that Mega Man Universe game, which was supposed to allow level sharing, but...

Nintendo really should buy the Mega Man franchise from Capcom. And release Mega Maker.

They should also buy Strider and Bionic Commando. And Ghosts'n'Goblins.

@Anand

And Street Fighter. And Final Fight. And Breath of Fire.

maybe Resident Evil but I dunno.

So I decided to just rent this from GameFly and try the challenge mode. But something about playing Mega Man on such a tiny screen feels so wrong. I just can't do it.

But that's no big deal, the Museum alone was worth the rental.

@nate38

Fantastic! I "Yeah'd" them both!

I grabbed this last week and have been enjoying the challenges.

But MAN, the emulation of Mega Man 5 is really choppy. I looked up the issue online, and changing it to the Japanese version fixes the issue. So strange. I wonder if Capcom will bother patching this.

@ploot

I've basically only played the Japanese versions of these games...because I have the VC versions already, so I wanted to see the differences. Glad I did...I was able to avoid some janky emulation, apparently. Success!
