@nate38

Would it be silly to play Virtue's Last Reward without playing 999?
04/09/16, 21:15
@DrFinkelstein They're only loosely connected storywise so I think it'd be fine.

If you just want the plot, there's also a visual novel version 999 on iOS I think, and maybe Android. It's the same game but without the puzzles. I believe you still choose which path you want to go through, so that aspect of the game is still there.

If you wanted to get a handle on the puzzle mechanics then get 999, but if you just want to get up to date with the story then you could go the mobile route. To be honest, getting the different endings on the 3DS can be....time consuming. It gets super repetitive having to solve the same puzzles over and over and over again.

Absolutely do not play Virtue's Last Reward before 999.

Very conflicting reports… lol.

Is 999 available digitally?
04/10/16, 14:43
@DrFinkelstein

Nope! You'll have to hunt down a physical copy.

@Secret_Tunnel

That's just silly. I would love an in-depth article about why Nintendo needs to take as much time as it does to provide it's back catalog.
04/10/16, 19:16
@DrFinkelstein Nintendo aren't the publisher of these games, so I'm not sure what you expect them to do in this case.
04/10/16, 20:25
@Mop it up

Touche but it would be in a lot of publisher's interests to make these games available and the process can't be too hard I'd imagine. My focus then points at the publishers themselves. Who is working with Nintendo on this? Who isn't and why? Curiosities abound!

Is there any word on more Nintendo Selcts titles coming to North America? I'd love to get Wind Waker. I'd love it even more if I could time the purchase with a 15% coupon but I imagine Nintendo will figure out a way to let that not happen.

Bayonetta 2 is 19.99 on Amazon right now. Might be time for me to grab it up, albeit I'm still going to be stuck on Xenoblade Chronicles X for probably another half a year or so at least gahhhhhhhhhhh.

NOTE: This is NOT the version that contains the original Bayonetta, it is just part 2. Apparently the version that contains both goes for like over $100 now, WTF.

Target is offering a $15 GC if you get a game currency card (XBL, eshop, PSN)worth $75 or more on 5/1. I might jump on it.

@PogueSquadron

You know if that covers Steam? Never too early to begin prepping for the summer sale...

I think this is for next week's ad (5/1):

04/25/16, 05:46
So I'm wondering if I can combine cards...could I get a $25 eShop card and a $25 Steam card and a $25 XBox card? This will probably save me money in the long run haha (or that's what I tell myself). The $15 at Target will get used up no problem.

@Zero

Well, if you really want both yoi can download Bayonetta from eshop for $29.99, but yhen you only have to pay $9.99 for the original Bayonetta.

I figure at the time, tyring to get both physical versions, the price is only going to go up. Actually, I just checked and both my Gamestops still have brand new Bayonetta 2 for $29.99 plus tax. That makes the price for both $31.79. I would buy one for you, ifvyou wanted to send me money via paypal, plus a few dollars for shipping via media mail. I'd put the game in a cardboard box with bubblewrap. I'm sure if you just added on $2, that would cover shipping.

@PogueSquadron
Yes, you can. But you have to use your cell phone to get the coupon.

Humble Spring Sale

Lots of good stuff in there.

And none of it even available to Nintendo? Lame.

Frustrating day on NW. Doesn't ANYTHING like Nintendo consoles?

Nintendo doesn't really get involved in Humble stuff often. They've done two Bundles. Everyone has been talking about the Humble Friends of Nintendo bundle which was really good. And that was like a week ago.

I actually don't know if it's Nintendo that Humble store would have to work with or the publishers themselves, but it's just rare that Nintendo games go on there.

Still, they had Affordable Space Adventures, Shantae, and Citizens of Earth last week. Not too shabby at all.
